"And you? You are still the same petulant, narcissistic. So I'm leaving you here. Once, long ago you sealed me away. Now, in a way I'm doing the same to you. You're trapped, dismissed, abandoned. So I guess you got what you've always wanted. You're on your own"
Somehow, I loved to watch Amara calling Chuck off. That scene and Cas' speech (the highlight of the episode for me) we the best parts for me.
I had a good laugh when Chuck went to visit Amara like "hey, sis, what's up? Look, I need help 'cause I've pissed off the Winchester and now they're gonna go after me, but no biggie, I gotta disappear. Wanna leave this world with me and help me create another one? "
This season has me confused and intrigued at the same time. I wasn't expecting the beginning of the season to be so slow. I hope they pick up the pace soon, especially in the last season of a show with only 20 episodes.
However, I enjoyed this episode a bit more than the premiere, if only for all those familiar faces coming back. The only thing is that knowing the actors' and actresses' names spoils the surprise of their comebacks. I was thinking they might just throw Adam into the mix, lol.
I loved seeing Amara again. I wasn't expecting her so soon. Turns out her vacation suited her. She's more colorful and cheerful now but I'm eager to watch her go full on black dress action soon.
Now, let's talk about Kevin. Why does Kevin have to be treated in such an appalling way? What has he done to deserve this? It's frustrating. My poor sweet Kevin. Never in the history of a TV show I've seen a more innocent character being so mistreated by the writers.
I didn't understand how the hell he could be in hell. Last time we saw him, Chuck sent him to Heaven. It makes no damn sense that he sent him to Hell, other than the writers looking for a way to bring him back.
Remember when ghost were scary, disorganized and emotional? Yes? Well, just stayed tuned to witness a ghost congregation hosted by Jack the Ripper. I appreciate the ghost callbacks to earlier season but I'm sort of getting tired of it.
I loved seeing my favorite red-headed witch. Lord, I just hope she doesn't die. And why not? I also liked seeing Ketch back although I thought he'd bite it. What I hated was that forced sexual tension. Jezz, it was nearly embarrassing. I laughed when they called an ambulance. In the whole show we've seen like 2 or 3 ambulan es and only when they're at death's door.
Cas not being able to heal Ketch was interesting, though. That's gotta mean that, since Chuck is hurt and not at full strength, angels have to be losing their power. So, to help Cas, the boys are gonna end up helping Chuck. Speaking of, you're freaking God, why would you create a gun that can actually kill you?
Chuck talking about how great the ending of Game of Thrones was tells everything we need to know about his writing abilities.
I love the parallelism between Chuck, Amara, Sam and Dean. Dean is connected to Amara in the same way Sam's linked to Chuck. Like the mark of light or something. Does that mean that if Sam dies, Chuck bites it too?
Dean saying "We've got a crisis in our hands" made me think of the crossover and since the CW is including every show in there, I would've even be surprised if the boys make an appearance.
Btw, I'm still wonder g what's going on among Jack, the Empty and Billie. Anyway, I hope the show picks up the pace because we've o ly got 18 episodes left and there's a lot of things to be tackled. And I can't wait to finally see Adam/Michael.
Excuse me while I bleach my brain after watching Rowena and Ketch make goo-goo eyes at each other.
I want to see another Castiel romance instead, like when he fell for Meg.
I should have liked this episode since we got a nice cast reunion of sorts, but things feel a little bland.
Perhaps Sophie and Anthoney are right about how turning God into a vindictive little brat was a bad artistic choice on the writers part. IDK... But right now I'm hoping the writers have some tricks up their sleeves with the whole shoulder mystery.
Edit: However, re: Chuck was always manipulating- Lucifer said horrible things about him and Chuck kinda favored his villains, and even in early days didn't tell the brothers his real identity, so was this really such a switch? I'm not sure he was ever supposed to be great.
It’s a bit hard watching Supernatural and what is has become in the last 7, 8 years. It’s become more and more ridiculous and involuntarily funny. I miss the tone of the first seasons, it was gritty, dark, only about the hunters. Then with their bunker, man of letters, Rowena, weird demons talking like normal people with normal problems... not being scary at all but only annoying... main cast always looking like coming straight of the most expensive brand cloths store and wearing 100% new cloths all the time... I can’t really explain it, it looks too clean! Not realistic anymore but more of a music video. I miss the scary tone from the beginning. It really had something from The X-Files, a more serious, realistic looking show. Also the writing became more and more ridiculous. Sam and Dean posing as FBI Agents and evacuating a whole city without the real fbi noticing? Really? So I just need a blue jacket and can do that?
I was such a big fan in the beginning, but it’s lost what gave it its charme, scaryness. Effects and acting are even worse now (last episode, Cass‘ blood from the hands or the girl scratching her face). Looked really bad.
It really is a shame. Loved that show. Only watching it for completion now.
Thank goodness Ketch showed up before the Winchesters did something STUPID. And Cas was right all along--if they had simply told that guy what happened to his wife from the beginning, he never would have gone investigating.
I was hoping Amara would be in this season. Hopefully, she talks some sense into her brother.
Misha's angry eyes during his conversation with Dean were a refreshing break from the helpless puppy dog eyes he's been having for at least 2 seasons now.
I've never been a Kevin Tran fan, but I will say that I tolerate him a little more each time he appears. Would've preferred Charlie, though. OOH! What if they bring back Ash, Ellen, and JO?! (As if...but a girl can dream, right?)
If Dean wasn't so stupid to have wasted all those shots...
Instead of "dipping" the warding, couldn't Kevin have gotten out by simply possessing someone, having them walk across the border, and then leaving them? Or was Ketch still inside the border when he was possessed by Francis (though it didn't look like it)? And why is Kevin even saying good-bye? If he's a free ghost now, he can see them whenever he wants.
Amara slapping Chuck down with that KARMA! I like her more here than in season 11. And it's good to see someone put God in his place...

I still can't quite figure out how Robert Singer can be so awesome when he directs the funny episodes and so bad when he does the serious ones. Part of it is that everyone just seems stiff and the timing is so often off by a half-second on the exchanges, but there's more to it than that. And seriously, why do the writers all hate the Kevin Tran character so much? Cut that poor guy some slack for a change!
The second episode in our final season still feels a bit weird... A bit... low profile. Maybe too low-profile to make this epic last season be remembered for eternity.
There's plenty of cameo's and plenty of smiles to be had though... And I'm sure it'll pick up as the season progresses.
NOTE:
- I wonder if the remark about the final season of Game of Thrones was sarcasm on the writers' part or not.
- Rowena and Ketch... YES!
- Glad to see Amara back, hope she puts on that black dress again.
Francis Tumblety was Irish tho.
Looks like there getting all the old gang back together

God, self-proclaimed greatest author ever, liked the Game of Thrones ending? Seriously?
