Big fan of Supernatural, but I'm just not getting this season. Just a bit all over the place and we don't seem to have a focus on the 'bad guy/girl' character. Supernatural has always been a 'This is our long term goal this season and this is the other stuff that goes on while we get there' kinda show. I'm sure it will all come together in the next few episodes, but this is the first time I've been disappointed with the start of a season, and by that I mean rating episodes about the 7/8 mark.
The werewolves fight scene looked faker than a $4 dollar bill.
"Well, what you did today, you just made me so proud. You know, learning to hold your own in a fight without your powers, that takes time and training, but today, you proved that you have the mind of a Hunter and the heart of a Hunter. I was thinking, I mean, I'll talk to Sam and Dean, but I thought maybe we could go on a hunting trip. I mean, if you want to"
My feels. These Cas-Jack heart to heart are warming my heart this season. I mean, Cas is doing the best to his knowledge to be a father figure to Jack and he knows first hand what Jack's going through, and there he is, being his absolute best to help Jack. Also, this episode proved that despite being an angel, Cas is the only one capable of expressinghis feelings in team free will.
Jack is a ray of sunshine. Never change my baby-angel and Cas is such a mom this season. I'm loving their relationship so far. Just don't hurt Jack. The kid has been through enough. Poor Jackie. That has to be the best day he's had since he lost his powers. He's facing being human and not being able to help everyone. He's also probably thinking that everything that made him special is now gone and now, of course he's coughing blood and apparently dying. If the writers are planning of hurting him, I swear... I'm getting my pitchforks ready.
Cas is such a mom this season, helping everyone in distress and taking care of them while the boys are out of town. No, really. So far, it seems that Cas is a mom to everyone. Though I'd like him to go hunting with the boys, and despite his excuses to stay are sort of lame, I'm loving this talks he has with Jack.
I'm glad they covered last year'sloophole after Wayward Sisters. I'm still pissed off that the series got cancelled after it even started. I'd love to watch out wayward girls bettling with the bad and the ugly. I'd watch anything with Jody in, to be honest. The group was coming together and I absolutely adored Alex, and I was even starting to like Claire. I hated that they killed Kaia so quickly because she was cool and with thatsort-of-Claire attitude, but in a good way. I also wanted them to explore Claire and Kaia's relationship, but at least that one got addressed. So yeah, this episode was like adding salt in a flesh wound.
I loved Jody's line: "I just feel like I already lost before I ever even began" cough, cough Like, yeah, there's no Wayward Sisters, That and her "Team Sticking Together" were amazing.
The whole "Michael has left the building" got me angry. Like, I've been waiting years for that to happen and it only lasts for 2-odd epsidoes? No way in hell this is another Deanmon case. When I saw that scar I immefiately thought that was the way of getting Michael back and that since he, for some reasons needed Kaia and her weapon, and since Michael himself couldn't get it, maybe he left and made the boys get to her, so that she could trust them. If that's the case, I'll be happy cause that's a smart-ass plan if you consider it. Otherwise, I'm gonna be royally pissed off.
I oved that the first thing Dean mentioned was Sam's beard. That's the Dean we all know and love. Also, that open shirt with the vest, jezz, the guy looks good with everything!
I loved his reaction when Sam got called "chief". I love this hunter network they got going on. I'd only wish they'd give names to these hunters. I hate referring to them as that lady with the black vest or that other girl with pale-skin (just some examples). I liked this new woman hunter. In fact, her enchantation with Cas was really funny to me for some reason. Must've been because it rhymed. And why didn't anyone think of talking her necklace off? It was way too obvious. Also, who gave Jack the Disney movies? I loved that "Like Sleeping Beauty". Jack's too precious.
I'll mark this episode as the return of Sam's serial killer trivia. I have no idea why, but I love that he knows all that stuff. Might seem creepy, but not to me.
If there's one thing that's been consistent in Supernatural since season 1 is the whole "let's talk about that" followed by the "nope. No way" just to finish with said person breaking down, confessing everything, apologizing for it and promising not to ever do it again. I just wish they were able to talk about their feelings in an open manner, like Cas is doing lately. YOu would've guess they had learnt something, but apparently they haven't.
Was it jsut me or was something off with the music this episode? THat weird background sad guitar seemed to be hitting when you least expect it. I could only imagine Miguel from "El Dorado" playing his guitar. Now, seriouslt, thematic cues were way off in this epsiode.
While watching the fight I had PTSD from that wire fight last season. THey've done other fight scenes which flow smoothly without been spectacular, but the fight scenes tis season so far are being incredibly weird. THe first one with the weird close-ups was way off; last episode, that vampire was just slapping Bobby and tonight's was...in the line.
Also, I didn't want to comment on it last episode because I thought it was gonna be a one-time only thing, but those teeth looked freaking weird and cheap. Werewolves are not the same since Madison.
Overall, not the best, but interesting episode. Could've been better, could've been worse. I'm still angry about Wayward Sisters not being a thing after last season so I might be biased. I'm loving these subplots there're creating for Cas, Jack and Nick, wherever he is, which btw, I'd love to see. I'm really intrigued to know what Michael's intention was by leaving his perfect vessel and what he's cooking over, if he's even left Dean at all. I still remain skeptical.
jodys my fav wish she was in more episodes. love jack realizing he doesnt need powers to save people
They killed Lucifer in epic fashion last season. Despite liking the actor in the role. He just doesn’t have to be back. Yet he is and they are teasing a Lucifer return. Time for a new villain.....
Tying up few loose ends!

For me, the main thing that this one did was to bum me out again about the lost opportunity that was WAYWARD SISTERS.
