Lucifer Of The United States! Some scenes reminded me of Swan Song. I love Lucifer doing crazy but actually smart moves. It kept me on the edge of my seat. It was probably the best episode of the season so far. Sam and Dean, soon to be wanted fugitives. God, I really miss that story arc.
I loved David Chisum's portrayal of Lucifer. He did a good job. Everything was fantastic, especially Cas's non-reaction to the grenade launcher. He just looked so confused, like what's the big deal? And the fact that the president of the US was Lucifer speaks volumes given the current states of affairs. And Kelly, congratulations! It's an abomination! Her maternal instinct should be on high levels, the spwan of Satan is a big deal. I also loved Cas being full on Jedi with the guy from the secret service, although it lasted for 3 minutes.
That ending, though. Cas, why don't you pay attention? Dumb move man. And in the motel, why didn't he go back and erase their memories (secret service)? And why didn't anyone comment on the fact that Lucifer's soul went into the vent? Is that supposed to mean he's is the cage now? 'Cause Dean seemed to think they'd captured him, but Sam just saw the soul going down. That confused me. Or maybe Dean meant that they could exorcise him. I'm calling it, Luci didn't go back to the cage. I think his son will be his next vessel. It would be a strong vessel to contain him. And the boys staying there even though the president was alive was weird. This makes me think it's a plan. When they showed that guy from the secret service I was waiting for his eyes to flash red. Or are the British MoL involved? Mr Ketch showing at the right time was way too convenient. Maybe this is their move to get them to join. And Crowley leaving the building? Even Dean looked amazed. They're a pseudo team.
Overall, great mid-season finale, despite Cas' dumb move. I can't wait to see the Nephilim arc. Now, let's see the boys' prison break.
Why is Cas only powerful when it suits the plot. Isn't he supposed to know when humans are being evasive or lying. Cas use to be a marvelous angel and now he just feels less so. I did enjoy the episode for the most part, but the ending was painfully predictable.
I like the Lucifer plot but it's just not the same without Mark Pellegrino.
"That's the sweetest thing you've ever done for me"
"I didn't know he was dating"
"Oh God! - No, actually, he left."
:joy:
Took me a while to understand that Lucifer going through the vent was him going to cage.
Them getting caught like that is just plain stupid. Why would they just stay there instead of going with Kelly (the top priority rn), especially knowing special agents are waiting outside, it's obviously gonna look bad and he's the damn president! It's not in character with them, and Cas just leaving them there after seeing the agents going in isn't either. Unless it's part of a greater plan, cause if not, it's just lazy.
I also don't think there is a valid reason (other than needed for the plot) for why the president wouldn't remember at least making a deal with an angel or some supernatural being (probably didn't know it was Lucifer). L even says he didn't give him the usual "downtime" because he needed info.

Sam: "Can we just get the damn news without the drama?"
Crowley: "Can I get out without the flannel?" Chuck damn Crowley, always with the real stuff.
Rowena: "I'm a witch, he's an angel..."
Crowley: "and I'm the king of Hell"
Kelly: "Oh God"
Cas: "No , actually he left".
Sam: "Not helping guys"
Love those silly and predictable exchanges.
And Rowena, full covered in that guy's juice: "This is the sweetest thing you've ever done for me". Rowena's best quote.
Even though the tone of the episode was serious, there was some room for humour.
