Great start to new season, hope this one will be better than the last
Let's talk about the first episode. For the first time in 12 years, I have no idea where the show is going. There's always been a distinct threat or villain - and that paves way for the entire season. Right now, all we have is essentially multiple hunters. Mary Winchester is a hunter, obviously Sam and Dean are, and technically speaking - the Men of Letters are also hunters. That would be great if we were warming up to an Avengers-size scale of bad guys - but right now they are free and clear. The only thing I can think of is the Men of Letters are bad guys...and even then, that's stretching it. I don't know where the show is going, and I think that's a bad thing.
What an amazing episode, better than half of last season for sure.
First episode ever I've watched alone without my ex. Damn those feelings. ,_,
8/10
Great start to a
brand new season
last season was Phenomenal
don't know how you would
even try to match that.
For the Love of
Crowley someone put
a bullet in Toni,
so super annoying.
Can't wait to see
The Winchesters back
at full strength again
feels like it's been
33yrs since I last saw that.
Someone pull Sammys ass
out the fire please and I
hope there is a big bad
to this season.
This was not the strongest premier the show has had, that's for sure. It was great having Mary back in the picture and seeing how she's adjusting to the time changes - and how she interacts with Dean. Mama didn't skip a beat when he was in trouble. Didn't expect anything less.
But the whole British Men of Letters thing kinda feels like a cop out because they don't know where to take the series. Seems unlikely to me that when the Men of Letters were wiped out that nobody came and tried to restart it in the states... especially with so many resources sitting there untouched for decades. Like the bunker the boys are living in?
I am ready for Toni to go back from whence she came and leave Sam alone. She isn't a strong enough character to even hope of breaking Sam. An episode with family drama or all about Mary would have probably made a stronger premier than this.
The best part of the episode was Dean's Liam Neeson impression lol that had to be an intentional reference!
wow this girl is insanely annoying. i hope she doesn't become some little sidekick of theirs. acting all superior because "there hasn't been a monster related death in england since 1965" first of all england is like 2 square meters compared to the US second of all have you even tried to help america?
but the episode was good :)
Oh, for the love of Chuck, will someone please save Sam?
For a second there, I thought the British lady was going to say, "Make America Great Again", I was going to fall right out of my chair. Lol.

Wow, very good episode imo. But let's talk about it. First of all, Mary being back was nice to watch and her interactions with Dean and Cas were perfect. After 12 years and Dean finally talks to his mom and not a ghost or Mary in the past. Plus, she's a badass. The scene with the Impala was priceless. After that Dean will be scared forever. Once I told my sister that it would be fun to see that Dean was actually conceived in the Impala and there we go. Awesome.
Overall, it was a nice start of the season: Season 4 Cas is finally back and his guilt for releasing Lucifer will team him up with Crowley, which will be very nice to watch. Angel and demon road trip is always fun to watch.
And please, British freaking lady, just die already or go back to your son and leave Sam alone. He doesn't deserve this. He has saved the world and come on, if you wanted to change things among hunters, why didn't you do it before? Jared's acting through the episode was on point. I strongly suggest someone gives this guy an award for his scenes. You could actually feel his sorrow and loneliness in the last scene. For probably the first time, he knows no one is coming to rescue him. And Solitude playing at the end gave me goosebumps.
This season's opener was brilliant as we go back to the roots of the show. I don't really know where we are going from now on with the big bad this season (which I think will be Lucifer) but it will be fun to find out. All we know is that the British men of letters are bad guys, but it will be over by episode 2 I think so, where are we going, I hope ask to its roots, to the monster of the week episodes.
Another thing I liked Was dean's best Liam Neeson impression and the famous saving people slogan. My, how much things have changed. S1: saving people, hunting things, the family business. S12: saving people, hunting things, this is our life. Simply perfect!
I started this show when I was in high school and it never ceases to impress me. Thursday come quickly!!!
