I'd be lying if I said my mind wasn't blown by this show. It greatly exceeded my expectations. The acting was spot on, soundtrack was simply remarkable and the direction of this show was astonishing. I cried more than once throughout my viewing, the show just immerses you into the plot that you live with the drama. I consider my self to be a TV fanatic, with having watched well over 90 TV shows, this one is definitely stood out. This show will stand a testament that good TV does exist and that we may not be as diverse as our cousins from across the pond but we can sure as shit can make good Tele. Anyone ever watch Harmony Korine's "Kids" 1995?
Well, Skins is basically the television series version of that movie. It revolves around topics of reality that people are afraid to face are real and pretend they actually don't exist. Each episode revolves around a specific character that is within this group of friends and it alternates back and forth, giving every character a chance to have their story developed on screen. Every two seasons we are introduced to a new generation which at first I thought was irritating, but in all honesty, the writers are brilliant! The show presents us to friendship, love, drugs, sex, sexuality, religion, the struggles that come within families, search for identity, etc. I would definitely recommend this show. It says so much about youth and the horrid events that specifically adults who are parents hate to know are true.
Season 3-4, Generation 2 are my favourite <3 I miss this so much. cries
Alright I love this series, taking out the third generation, this show is real, that's the best and the worst part of it.
May seem over exaggerated but I believe it shows an aspect of life that we like to pretend doesn't exist. All the fuckups, and the unfair, they all are, we're all somewhat fuckups, life never turns out perfectly fine at the end; and I think the last season was brutally real, wasn't indulgent, stayed in character everything that happened in the other seasons, and didn't lie; life is wonderful, but sad most of the time, things don't turn out okay after a shitty time.
Skins shows people that aren't often portrayed on tv, people that we need to talk about, with problems society doesn't try to solve as hard as it should, rather society makes them worst in most cases; and the shows talks about them in the most real way, with all the bad that it is, but trying to deal with it with humor, as real life.
Obviously don't take it as a bible, life isn't exactly this, and doesn't have to be, it's just another part of the story and for what it is, it's beautifully done.
The 1st generation it's the best :D
This show was like a ghetto Brit version of Gossip Girl meets Euphoria. Revolutionary for its time.
My favorite character at the time this aired was poised Effy, but looking back now it's the adorable twins (one of whom went on to star in the delightful Finding Carter.)
I'll forever miss the first generation.
I got too attached to the first gen I never gave the other gens a chance >.
Quite literally the best show I've ever seen. The way that they give us three sets of characters, all of whom are completely diverse and hit almost every social issue in the book, is flawless. I have found some of the most relatable characters ever from this show and have even figured out part of who I am from them as well. I have rewatched this show multiple times and can never get enough. I feel like this is a show that should be seen by everybody, it's just that good. Wish season 7 never happened but the rawness of it all was so amazing. Please watch and stan Emily Cassie Gracey and Rich <3
omg. big love for this show.
OMG how I love this show ! My favorite is the second generation , "James Cook" I love this guy's acting I could write a poem 'bout it !
2nd generation is probably my favorite one. it was a very sad feeling when season 4 ended. hopefully season 7 will catch up on that
Skins ended when the 4th season ended.
This is one of my most loved tv shows of all time, but 3rd generation isn't cooll as 1st and 2nd :C
Season 7 seems to be completely different than the other seasons. I am not sure, if I like that. All are adults? No heavy partEying, no drugs, sex?
Hm.
But for now, it is okay.
I watched the first two seasons. Is this at all realistic about life for a group of teens? It feels exaggerated, but in a way that makes for good tv. Also in a way that brings real life challenges to light. The show exposes the dirty ugly parts of growing up, and how friends can be a saving grace.
This will ruin your life in the best and worst possible way
Made myself to watch it and tried to convince myself I liked it but realistically I didn’t
Seasons 1 and 2 are amazing.
I didn't like 3 and 4 as much but a lot of people prefer them so check them out. Season 5 is fine, I liked the characters enough to keep watching but I advise completely avoiding 6. It is the only season I'd say is actually bad. Season 5 has a good conclusion so its not as if a lot of things are left hanging.
I've almost watched s7 a few times but Cassie's character is really special to me so I and I've always been worried that s7 might ruin that a bit. Maybe give it a shot but it's a bit of a gamble if you really like Effy, Cook or Cassie.
My 20yr old daughter absolutely loved this show and watched it multiple times. I remember her coming down stairs worked up and said “xxxx has just been seriously hurt” and I actually thought she was talking about a friend lol. She was extremely captivated by the show.
She reminded me to watch it on several occasions and I did intend doing so, but now I have. She’d be so excited to chat about with me.
I really enjoyed it, especially the first 4 seasons. However, I wasn’t a fan of season 5 & 6; the acting was questionable, and so to were the storylines. But, apart from that I loved it.
Thank you Shannon #forever20
Season 1 - 4 was worth watching. Went downhill with season 5 & 6. Season 7 was not needed. I think Season 7 could have done better.
La seconde génération était la meilleure ! Je n'ai pas aimé la troisième ..
i miss the first generation!! it was the best!!
OMG, I've started to watch Skins no long ago, and I just finished the 4 season and WTF????????
I loved the 2 generation and didn't like the end, I want more explanation :(
PS: I love both generations, (didn't watch the 3 yet)
A primeira geracao foi a melhor. A segunda geraçao teve uma otima historia, mas o final deixou muitas perguntas sem respostas. A terceira geração achei chata. Mas a serie e muito boa. Eu achava que seria uma serie apenas de sexo, drogas etc, mas a serie leva para um rumo emocional muito bacana. Muito boa.

As @pirs already mentioned... I also gonna miss the first generation, but I also gonna miss the whole show as well. The characters were sooo good, many highs and lows, good stories and some lovely developments in the different story lines.
I am sad seeing Skins gone - and it seems like forever. What I don't liked was the last season. It was totally different compared to the other seasons. Most of the time I got bored. Don't get me wrong - the stories were good, and the acting too but it didn't felt right. It felt like a forced end on a movie-based episodes... and that went totally wrong.
