How did Ruby go from being a shallow mean b... to being someone who deserves better? Now THAT'S character development.
And Blur closing the episode. Ugh. chef kiss
You know what…. Fuck maeve…… I want ruby to be happy and with Otis ….. it’s probably not gonna happen tho
My heart shattered for Ruby :'(
why didn't he say it back!! im really starting to like ruby
RIP Jonathan. Who wrote this scene?? I wasn't expecting that to happen! lol
This might be an unpopular opinion, but I don’t what Maeve and Otis to get together at all. The miscommunication trope between them is getting tiring, and instead they should just be friends.
I actually much prefer Otis to be with Ruby, and Maeve to be with Isaac. They honestly have a lot more chemistry and their dynamic just feels so much more romantic…
It's been great getting to know Ruby's character in depth.
This episode makes me love Adam even more
and Cal is so cool i love them and Jackson it should definitely happen
What a powerful episode! It's getting so good already <3
First of all: Poor Jonathan... :o I didn't see that brutal death coming.
Aimee's goat is still entertaining :D
(I just realized that her name isn't Amy btw :o :D)
Viv is really moving away from Jackson (and others, duh)... At the end of last episode I thought they'd become a pair but I don't really see that happening anymore. It's possible but far from easy.
Why did no one at the assembly ask Hope to wear a uniform as well? :D A real power move to make students wear them but not teachers...
Eric rap/dance scene to that song was superb!
It might take quite a while for Jean, Jakob, Otis, and Ola to live together in harmony :D
It's also quite interesting to hear that Jakob was really heartbroken after Jean kissed her ex-husband. Jakob always seems so happy and like nothing could shatter him.
That scene with Jean was great though ("Thor Nyman", not voting, and the picture)!
The double date started of kinda as expected xD (Adam's first question was just brilliant...) So funny <3 But then it kinda went well - which I didn't expect.
Ruby inviting Otis over was super lovely. Her dad is nice - really seems to make the best of his unfortunate situation. Ruby has to deal with quite a lot... :o
That ending though... :o When Ruby told Otis that she loves him. Oh no... It was so perfect and then that. And of course Otis panicked and didn't say anything reasonable :o :D
A heartbreaking end to this episode. WTF Otis
I never cared about Ruby but it was so touching seeing a human side of her, amazing arc for her and also for Adam.
Ben Taylor doesn't miss when it comes to sex education. They made a good subplot for this episode about Maeve's landlord didn't expect that to be good and it's funny that his partner is also the weed guy of Ruby's dad while they grow up together in their small town.
O.T. hit the jackpot with Ruby and he doesn't say it back!
I agree with everyone on the comments, all the characters are so great, it's just hard to pick one to root for. But I'm really looking forward to more action with Jean and Jacob, I hope they'll manage to bond enough before the baby comes, although I have a hunch they'll agree eventually that it's better to co-parent separately. This series is groundbreaking I believe, It's written so well and explore such important issues in such nonchalant way. Like the all-vulvas-are-beautiful thing, I'm a pretty mature woman, I've even pushed one stubborn daughter out of mine, and never thought of that, and that's actually important!
I believe it really provides good education on many matters, without falling down the over-SJW rabbit hole.
great episode! Adam is starting to grow on me but I feel like he is not going to last with Eric.
The episode was so marvelous! I really loved the interactions between the characters. Ruby‘s dad is really cool and great to experience something about Jeffrey and Cynthia.
Ruby is really cute actually and I was so happy that she overcame herself and told Otis she‘s loving him. Bad reaction by Otis  I hoped this relationship would last longer than some episodes
that last scene was so sad..
beside this I just love the character development we're getting this season:)
Last scene is just peak character development! Amazing season so far!
This episode was so good. The acting was so good especially with the actress who plays Ruby because WOW. And Jackson is so sweet, everyone is just really dope and I love all of them.
Omg. RIP Jonathan. What a horrible way to go!
The double date and home visit was so fun but the ending put a bad taste.
It has lost all of the sparkle of the early seasons by this point. Characters lurching where the plot needs them rather than actually developing organically.
Funny that Anderson spoke in her Thatcher voice in stretches of this episode.

The double date was so fun. It started off super awkward, but Adam unexpectedly giving Otis great advice regarding Ola and finding common ground with Ruby over the Kardashians of all things was really heartwarming to watch.
The headmistress offering to help fund Maeve's trip to America has earned her a tiny bit of good will. Maeve deserves so much after all that she's been through. The show really wants me to get on the Erin forgiveness train, but it's not happening. The way she's treated Maeve is too awful to get past IMO. You don't owe people second chances just because you're related to them.
The last scene was heartbreaking. It must've been so hard for Ruby to open up to Otis and let him see past the facade and when he didn't say I love you back you could see her heart shatter. I know he shouldn't say it if he's not sure or not ready, but still, I felt so bad for her.
