i LOVE eric, i love otis, i love maeve!!!!!! also the music in this show is amazing!! great episode
I really liked the weird girl, how it all turned out for her and her interaction with Eric. Also, I don't really like Jackson, I'm guess we're gon a be seeing more of him
I'm glad Eric got a new friend in Lily. I felt very sorry for him in the last episode.
The relationship between Maeve and Otis is adorable. I like seeing it progress and while I am rooting for a romantic relationship, I wouldn't mind if they'd stay friends.
After the first 2 episodes introducing the somewhat cliché characters and offering some cliché situations, I'm glad this episode took a serious turn. It's also really good how we get to know each character's backstory from episode to episode.
With a primarly focus on Maeve's abortion, and Eric's swing band aventures being a fun little side story, this was definentnyl one of the more seriosu episodes of Sex Education. I really liked how the show tackled this topic of abortion through Maeve, showing the emotional stress it puts on the patients, giving more of an insight on people who have abortions. My favorite character this episode definently have to be Sarah, the older woman patient whose already had 3 children and regrets being a bad mother for them, so she gets abortions to prevent raising other children as a bad parent. Her character waqs fantastic, both with her writing and acting, giving a strong impact in this episode as we watch her break down from her more sarcastic talkative persona, with her intial interactiosn with Maeve as they wer ein the waiting room, to being emotionally wrecked after having the abrotion, regretting being a bad parent for her current kids and not wanting to raise more because she's worried about not been a good parent for them. I also loved seeing Otis and Maeve getting closer, with Otis waiting fopr Maeve at the abortion clinic and them bonding a bit afterwards, also im glad Otis got humbled a little after shit talkign her mom, realizing how priveleged he is to even have a mom around after Maeve opened up about her mom being a drug addict and her brother being mentally unstable. Although to be fair, Otis's mom really is too invasive in his life, with her now wirting a book about Otis's ejacuation and sexual repression. she does have an issue with trying to be too invovled in Otis's life in a desire to help him. Also, in regards to Jackson who we saw a bit of, its pretty obviosu that Jackson's mom is putting an unhealthy amount of pressure on Jackson for him to be the best swimmer, not llowing him to enjoy life as a highschool student but to be constantly concerned with swimming, and its taking a toll on Jackson, who wants soem more freedom form constabntly working towards improving in swimming. And I also feel for him to in regards to Maeve, he wasnts somethign closer with her but she's distancing him from moreintimate aspects of her life, though this time she did have a legiminate reason not to watch Jackson's swimming match. More on the swimming match whioch Jackson won, its clear when the show cut to Adam watchign Mr Groff hugging Jackson and calling him "my boy" that Adam feels like Mr. Groff doesnt really respect and think highly of him, and believs that Mr. Groff thinks he's a failure, not living up to the expectations set for him. And these attitues for Mr. Groff are clearly getting to Adam emotionally, with him nto really having a supprotive father who respects their kid. Also, for Eric nd his little side story this episode, its clear that Eric is starting to feel left out now that Maeve and Otis are spending way more time toegther, though im glad(even tho he sucks) he found the swing band to do, hoepfully him and Lila become better firends and hang out more. Also, Eric and his dad clearly have a toruvbled relationship too, im looking fporward for this show to explore mpore about whats wrong between them and hope they resolve that issue, cause right know Eric feels like he cant fully express who he is around his dad. Also Jean and Remi's relationship was interesting, though its nce that even though theyre divorced they both get to spend time with their kid, Otis. Also, Im glad we got, even though it was pretty sad, more insight into Maeve's living situation, I hope we learn mroe about her mother and brother. Overall, this wa sa pretty solid epsidoe and addition to the season.
Continues a really good season so far. Got much deeper all around but it was still a fun ep.
An entire episode dedicated to Maeve getting an abortion. I think it should have been only half the episode dedicated to the clinic, but I guess because it's a netflix show, they're apt to be more indulgent with certain story lines. The part with the anti-abortion religious nuts was funny.
Still great!
That weird sex fantasy girl is kinda fun :D
Seems like Maeve and Jackson did at least use condoms.
Otis came :D And his reaction to it xD Eric's reaction was just priceless xD
"Don't go into my room." Yeah, that really doesn't work... :o (Jean: "Not my business" - as if...) Otis is definitely right though: His mom doesn't know any boundaries. I mean, WTF, how could she tell her clients about Otis' ejaculation?!?
Seems like Jackson's life also comes with a high price... :o (lots of training, etc.).
Otis being weird is still so lovely!
That music teacher xD
Otis: "Why are we in an abortion clinic?" :DD
And what a bust for that girl when Eric said "I'm gay" :o :D So funny though :D
The relationship between Eric and his Dad also seems "interesting". His dad isn't really fine/comfortable with it but still seems to love Eric. I wonder what we'll learn about that.
That religious girl to Otis: "Sunscreen, they'll need it in hell." - What a sick burn!
Anyway, so many funny moments <3
Does anyone know name of the actress which played this horny sexy and slim girl from the orchestra?
PS. "Comic Girl" as name she Changeqe
Imo this was the worst episode up until now. Jackson and the Comic Girl were too on the nose and I didn't really care about them. Otis was way too cringy at the start of the episode. In the first two episodes that was handled better. I guess it's just a weird thing to suddenly drop most of the wanky humor in favor of more drama. All in all I didn't enjoy this episode like the first two, but it moved the plot a lot. I'm excited as to how the themes and emerging conflicts of this episode will play out. Hopefully the following episodes will fit the tone of the first two more.

Clearly a more serious episode, the ones dealing with abortion will always be somewhat tougher for show runners and viewers to handle, due to the stigma surrounding the subject. Though I'm physiologically limited to truly comprehend the whole situation, I feel that this episode handled things well. Sarah was the most heartbreaking character on this show, so far, but her connection with Maeve felt like a sparkle of light in the darkness of that event. In such a time as difficult for them as that was, everything felt alright, for a moment.
Otis being there for Maeve was, as expected, utterly adorable, and I'm sure 90% of us are already rooting for those two to end up together. But, right now, they just make a really weird and misadjusted couple. I really want to see their relationship grow (even if it won't end up being a romantic one).
This episode ended up being a beautiful sad cake, sprinkled with hope on top.
