I'm not one to dwell too much on remake changes and such but hot damn did this lack something over the original anime. D-point in the original was just pure angst. They died one by one in protection of Usagi and it was heartbreaking for her to experience. Where was this element?
This time round the 4 generals got taken out and they stood around and wept about it or some crap? Then each supplied their 'lives' to give energy to Usagi. IDK. I know this is more true to the manga but it just wasn't as badass.
Everything was just so focussed on the girls and their past 'loves' then Usagi getting strength from Mamoru's presence. I just feel like despite the strong words of the intro song - of them not needing men to protect them - somehow this hasn't been fed through to the writing itself :/
so bad! I can cry and laugh at the same time.
This episode should have been epic, but the animation was so lazy it ruined the effect.

This kinda lacked the punch it needed. Maybe it's because I was constantly bothered by how bad it all looked. Toei certainly doesn't give a shit...
