Archie doesn’t know what he wants to be. A musician, boxer and now a vigilante.
Haha Tracy Drew books, or how about the kids name in the yearbook, Charles Chickens? Lol Nice, so the whole thing about Jughead supposedly being killed is all part of this perfect murder story that will get Jughead to win, got it.
No one wants to hear about how hot their sibling is, Kevin.
They are really running with this serial killer gene bullshit, huh lmfao. Classic Riverdale.
Remember how Riverdale was presented as a small, idyllic town, and Jason Blossom's death shocked and rocked the town? Well, now, crime is apparently so rampant in this small, idyllic town that Archie is able to be a wannabe Batman. It's ridiculous.
Sponsor a baseball team? Where the hell are these kids going to play baseball? They're in a boxing gym down by the water. It's a really shitty community center, by the way - the boxing rings take up like 80% of the real estate in there. There's not enough room to do anything besides box.
Everything about this Betty being a serial killer storyline is absolutely idiotic and lame. As if she's some sort of savant with a sixth sense about serial killers. So, so stupid.
Oh, great, yet another hitherto unknown sibling coming out of nowhere. These writers fucking suck.
Can we please give Kevin another character trait besides "I'm gay"? It's embarrassing. If a female character was written like this, there would be an uproar.
I don't know what you think but this season is getting better and better especially Jugs storyline about his own murder?!!!
the "serial killer genes" storyline is absolutely ridiculous - there is no way that betty could identify murderers from a picture alone and that is a really damaging concept to be promoting in a tv show, same as the concept that you can identify potential killers from their dna. this is literally how ideas like the eugenics movement gain traction. the reality is that criminals suffer a multitude of different factors - environmental, genetic, social, etc. - and that leads them to do the things they do, same as an anybody else. it's not as black and white as someone's biology. all of this information could be found in a school psychology textbook and is exactly where riverdale fails when compared to actual true crime shows. additionally, archie remains the most boring character in the show (we get it, you want to ~avenge~ your father), hiram and hermione's dragged-out storyline is STILL ongoing (what kind of teen audience cares this much about organised crime and the legal system?), and riverdale has a drugs problem for what, the 3rd season in a row? i'm also disappointed that the farm storyline which has been building since the beginning ended in such an abrupt and anticlimactic way. hopefully it will be revisited later in the season, but i feel like the writers took an easy way out, throwing in alice being an fbi detective out of nowhere as a poor twist. it would have fit her much better if she was actually getting hooked in out of the emotional trauma and vulnerability she definitely did experience considering all she went through.
on the other hand, this season is so far definitely better than the 2nd and 3rd seasons. the quality seems much better, especially the episode dedicated to archie's dad which actually made me cry, and i do really like cheryl and jason's current storyline (though toni's reaction makes literally no sense unless she is crazy too). i'm especially enjoying the hints that jughead might end up dying being thrown in at the end of the episodes - stylistically, this really reminds me of pretty little liars and i like the way it brings you back from whatever happened in the episode and builds suspense. i've also been frustrated at riverdale's unrealistic reluctance to ever kill off actual major characters so i'm hoping this might change!
At this point the only really interesting storyline is that of Jughead at Stonewall Prep.
Why isn't the town freaked out by Archie running around town wearing a black hood! Seriously, did they forget the last time someone with a black hood ran around?? Secondly, this serial killer gene thing? What is up with that? Also, a junior FBI program for highschoolers in which obviously anyone can enroll? The fact that Betty is shadowing her shady brother is a good thing though, at least she has the brains to not just blindly trust him, especially after Chic.
It's obvious that Jughead isn't going to die. It's all part of his own 'the perfect murder' mystery writing assignment. I am curious to know more about his grandfather, there is more story there and as I said, it's the only good part of the show right now...
Andddd lastly: of course Hiram has a secret daughter. Are you even a Riverdale parent if you don't have a secret child? I mean, Alice and FP have one... who is next? Maybe Archie's mom has some kid back in Chicago ready to pop up in Riverdale?
Anything is possible in Riverdale, it used to be a charm but the writers manage to botch it up every single time and go overboard on it. Maybe dial it down a bit, go back to the murder mystery roots of where the show originally began... but who am I to judge? I am still watching... maybe a show to b*tch about is nice too.

Betty's magic serial killer genes somehow allow her to identify serial killers from photos only - as if this is at all a probable exercise for the FBI. More and more this show is impossible to enjoy even in its absurdity.
Also I have no idea what's going on with Hermione's storyline and I really don't care anymore. Archie is back to his vigilantism and is still so boring.
All of these storylines kind of suck right now. There's nothing tying them together, there's no overarching plot except the anticipation that Jughead is supposedly going to die.
