I love musicals and this one was pretty good... Cheryl, Toni, Betty and Josie singing got me pregnant.. Was expecting a Choni kiss God damn it..and Cheryl, I love you so much! Show your mother! And nice detail, Toni's rainbow shirt. Also, love Alice but cmon getting back with Hal, we want FP and so do you? And the final scene, poor Midge
I was not expecting music and singing throughoul the whole episode. Not something I particularly enjoy, but the ending scene made up for it!
Musicals are so so boring.
damn, I got chills at the ending..
Why do all the shows that I watch feel the need to drive us crazy with musical episodes? Come on. This was so unnecessary. I wanted to skip the entire thing... but I was scared that I'd miss important plot points. I can't do this. Kill me now.
Of course Josie is just gonna accept Cheryl’s crazy, because who wouldn’t love a friend like that lol.
“Show your mom who is in charge,” said no one ever to their lover, but OK.
Cheryl’s mother might be all kinds of fucked, but let’s not pretend Cheryl is any better. So sad Cheryl didn’t have that final death scene, you really disappoint me, Black Hood.
Why does people even like Cheryl?? She is a nut job.
I like cheryls boobies,weird.
I don't have a problem with musical episodes, but this felt mediocre to me.
I liked the Alice-Betty moment, the Cheryl-Penelope moment and of course the ending.
I'm usually not a fan of musical episodes (though I hate black-white episodes even more), but I didn't really worry when I heard about the musical episode because so far Riverdale has really nailed all music scenes.
The only complaints I have is that some scenes had some really bad lip-syncing, and that Jughead's camera scenes seemed weirdly out of place and pointless the whole time. It was just a bit too much - I would have rather seen a different episode where they focused on these camera scenes instead of a musical episode and the reality show camera at the same time.
Some random comments/thoughts:
- I have to admit Archie made me laugh again - Once again he's overshadowed by all the other actors who have impressive voices while he sounded so... normal.
- Why does the whole Hiram/Archie story seem more and more like some weird love relationship? "A young man never forgets his first car" - Hiram made it sound like he just stole Archie's first kiss, Jesus.
- Ugh, why did Hal and Alice have to get back together. I feel like they have no chemistry at all (and Hal no personality) and I would rather see them separated and see how Alice slowly starts a relationship with FP (which would make Betty/Jughead awkward, but it wouldn't be the weirdest thing we have on this show).
- Also, we're still not considering therapy or any kind of help for Cheryl? Really? No one? Well, then...
- What the fuck was that ending? It was so absurd and so typical Riverdale, Jesus Christ.
Oh and Cheryl is a frickin QUEEN
I’m a big fan of musical episodes and Carrie the musical has some amazing songs in it so I loved this episode:sob: plus then ending twist was awesome
Oh nooooo, a dreaded musical episode. I hate these. I'll say the same thing I said about Fringe's musical episode: I'm sure the cast, production crew, etc all have fun making these episodes, but they always feel like a gigantic waste of time as a viewer.
They gave the "videographer" role to Jughead so Cole Sprouse had an excuse to not sing, lol.
"I'm in a high school musical, can you believe it?" No, I can't, because it makes no fucking sense. No high school play is going to cast an adult. That's insanity. The only exception would be is if a cast member is sick so the drama teacher would step in last minute. But that's not the case here.
Also, I guess Alice doesn't care about Polly, her other daughter, anymore. She only mentioned Chic, Hal, and Betty.
I'm sorry I'm sick of Archie convincing Betty to forgive Veronica. And him finally getting his head out of ass doesn't make anything ok with his dad in my opinion.
I don’t have a problem with musical movies, in fact I love movies with music but this series is so good that I just want to know what’s going to happen next in Riverdale and this episode seriously ruined it for me >___< too much singing!!
OMFG of course an episode of Riverdale the high school musical, (not that I hated all the singing) but CW has to have a musical episode in every show they have, it's pathetic. And really a mom playing a role in a high school musical? Someone should tell Alice Cooper that SCHOOL'S OUT!... Forever! lol
To be honest, I kind of zoned out for the whole episode until the very ending because what the hell
Musicals suck, and this epitomized that suckage.
Don’t give Broadway any ideas. We don’t need Carrie the Musical lol.
I usually like musicals but this was bad, I just wanted it to end. Didn't really like the songs, the voices sounded so overproduced, and the dancing was meh (well at least archie made me laugh with his moves). Only a few moments were actually worth seeing.
Btw, When ethel says she wouldn't threaten anyone and later on, that she knows what it looks like but the cutouts were for her board... weren't Kevin, Jug and Betty supposed to be the only ones who knew about the letters?
oh no a fucking Musical episode :-( the only good Musical episode had buffy with once more with feeling.

Oh, joy. It's time for the musical episode that I've so been looking forward to. (That was sarcasm in case it was unclear.) All of the regulars have major roles in the school musical, of course, because there are really only about ten or twelve people going to Riverdale High while everyone else we occasionally see in school hallways is someone wandering in off the streets, or something. After fast-forwarding through the music, this one features all sorts of reconciliations. Except for Cheryl. That one kinda sorta goes the other way when it comes to her and her mom. I'm pretty sure that there might be some dysfunction going on there. And that final twist? Awesome. The sort of thing that hooked me on this show in the first place. Poor Midge. But hey, her loss is the show's gain.
