The early 90s cgi is pure nostalgia. Unfortunately the rest of the production and script also suffered from cost cutting, apparently.
Everything is basically magic: Marcus' powers from Lamia's eyes, the Vrille android disobeying direct orders, the snake, the golden android, the Trust. There is no internal logic, or rules. This isn't sci-fi, it's fantasy.
