a superb premiere to a series that would become quite integral to my childhood
First time re-watching this sinceI used to watch repeats on the Hallmark channel in the UK on Sky in the early 2000s! The pilot episode was a fantastic setup. The cinematography was beautiful. It reminded me a lot of the intro scene in Top Gun: Maverick.
The opening scenes of the future was very 80s! Loved it.
Looking forward to doing a whole series re-watch now. The other staple I used to watch back then was the A Team, might throw that back in the mix too!
My 1989 life was pretty much preoccupied with a health crisis, so I only saw a few episodes of Quantum Leap during it’s original run. With all my time getting better, one would’ve thought I watched more Sci-fi TV that year! I know I read a lot of novels. I’m finally watching the series, starting here.

I'm here now revisiting this 1989 version because of that silly reboot they just released. I know I'll be enjoying this a lot while leaving the 2022 version for the younger generation of weird genders and hybrid disorders.
