Okay, now I really hate Laoghaire.
Interesting points of the ep:
1. Laoghaire is acting every bit the jealous teenager she is, making it out that Claire bewitched Jamie away from her. If this had been modern times, she would be seen as the petulant teenager she is, but since they are in a time when witches and omens are believed it, Laoghaire allusions against Claire can be damaging. But props to Claire for standing her ground against the teenager. Though the slapping her might come back to bite her.
2. Geillis leads a complicated life. Though she is the resident witch, she is also having an affair with the Mackenzie's brother and pregnant with his child while they are both married to other people. Yeah, Claire should steer far way from that drama, though Geillis is her only friend. But her only friend (and her friend's lover) have just murdered their spouses to be set free. Oh, this is going to turn ugly, eps when Laird McKenzie finds out.
3. Duke of Sandringham is so gay! And has a thing for Jamie, which Jamie is totally cool with but doesn't reciprocate. Take that homophobes! Also this could work to help Jamie be a free man and return home. But a favor costs a favor. In order for the Duke to save his life, he has to save the Duke's life as his second in a duel against the Duke from a rival clan. Shit. Fingers crossed!
4. It's always a pleasure to see Claire playing politics, especially against men who do not see her as an advesary until she has a verbal dagger to their necks. Duke of Sandringham never saw her coming. Also love how Claire threatens the Duke if Jamie incurs any injury in the duel and the Duke is scare shitless.
Fav Scene: After the Duke and McDonald go through the steps of a formal duel and honor is restored, the McDonald boys, infuriated by what they see as empty gestures and trading insults, attack Jamie in a three against one sword brawl (all full of overzealous strikes and injured honor), leaving an injured group of young men, incld Jamie, while the Duke reminds Jamie that if Claire finds out about his injury, the Duke is not at all at fault. This was a brawl and not a duel. Plus, he's totes gonna help him clear his name. Quid Pro Quo.
Bonus fav: Claire stiching up Jamie, with no anesthetic as Jamie tries to play down the brawl. Claire's passive aggressiveness is epic!
For fucks sake Claire... just do what you’re asked ONE TIME! Outlander needs to be renamed “damsel in distress”
I frickin' love this show!! And the Duke was hysterical!
Getting strong suspicions that Ms Diana Gabaldon just hates women. Sad to see female characters written like this.

Claire is pretty condescending to everyone about believing in fairies and ghosts for someone who travelled in time via magic rocks.
