i used to love this show so much but since season 4 i completely lost interest and it makes me really sad.
This started out as good fun, but has slowly been losing it's charm... Maybe it's possibly over run its welcome already.

I finished season 1 the other day. I think the actors can be really funny and Zooey is great, there is potential... but it's like the writers come up with the lamest stories possible.
Will keep watching, but slowly (many other shows to see...)

This show is criminally underrated. The characters begin to feel like your family, the plot lines are hilarious and original, and I've laughed at a show more than this one. It's amazing from start to finish, and I wish I could watch it all over again for the first time.
This show will always hold a special place in my heart. You simply cannot go wrong with a sitcom about a group of friends, and this one hit the nail on the head. I loved seeing these goofballs form friendships and relationships with each other, and I adored the dynamics between all the different personalities. Schmidt and Nick will always be the absolute funniest to me but in such completely opposite ways, Jess and all her quicks are so unique and loveable, Cece is such a bad bitch who will never not be absolutely iconic, and Winston is just so odd but I love him too.

I couldn't get into it after Season 4. I just stopped at EP 7 and called it quits. they tried to hard to keep going but it was just boring humour
The first four seasons were really funny, but after that the series became much weaker. The last season was a complete waste of time.

I feel horrible that in S1 E9 CeCe was running out of eggs and if she wanted children she had to have them now......On the other side Jessica was full of eggs such a tragedy

What the heck happened to this show? It was hysterical when it started. Quirky, off-beat Jessica Day was highly entertaining and the roommates added a whole other level of humor, often times stealing the show. Now I've stalled on near the end of season three, where even the return of Coach can't seem to bring laughs back to the show. Jessica went from quirky funny to flat out annoying most of the time, and the poor male characters have been so beat down I can't even laugh with them anymore (Winston and the puzzles? Winston with his weird cat? Coach and the breakup? Is there a single ounce of testosterone in any of these guys?) Such a shame.
I liked the episode but how they got rid of coach was kind of awkward. I know he couldn't be in the show but I think they should have reshot the pilot.
New Girl has turned into downright trash after season 4, there were signs that it could pick up here and there but NO! The comedy is just so bland and unfunny that it forces me to pour acid over my eyes every single time.
The characters are so poorly done, they introduce hollow characters the viewers know are not going to last (Robby, Regan), but Elizabeth Meriwether says "what the hell, lets do it anyway".
And don't even get started on Winston, his character is so superfluous, that when the writers decide he can't be paired up with anyone, they give him a goddamn cat and make him effeminate. His "girlfriend" Ally is no where to be seen, she comes up for like one episode and disappears for the rest of the 21 episodes.
One expects character development over the seasons but except for Cece and Schmidt, every other main character has taken a turn for the worse..they've become losers. The one anchor of the show, Coach, has been been whisked away by his "girlfriend(s)" to other states every time he makes an appearance.
I love Schmidt so much!

The more successful brother of Happy Endings that is half as good and twice as long.
It's the only show that even when the episodes are not very good, it has always something that makes me smile or laugh. I just love it and hope it will have a looong life! And by the way, Winston is simply the best!

Average at its best. Jess and nick has zero chemistry. Schimidt most of the times is annoying, Winston is the only one who made me laugh sometimes. Not worth a rewatch in my opinion.
It´s a well-made show. The last seasons lost some spark but an overall good experience.

Still a great show. The later seasons are not as good as the beginning, but the whole thing is still very enjoyable. Even in a rewatch. Schmidt is the high point throughout the seasons… He has so many iconic scenes.

As others have already said, this show starts out pretty good but falls into mediocrity after a few seasons and never really recovers.
I needed some episodes to get into it, then I really liked it! But they are screaming so much, the shouting when argumenting over everything is very annoying after the first few times. I'm in the middle of season 5 now and I only keep going because it was good in the beginning and I am hoping for it to get better again...

What started out as dislike turned into devout fondness for this show. What the cast and crew have done is created some truly loveable characters that you can become invested in. Like most sitcoms this show does include those jokes that could be considered as toe-in the line of being slightly problematic. This show also had its ups and downs but unlike most sitcoms I feel like this managed to be quiet consistent and I liked that.

I've watched season 1 over and over but I just cannot get through the rest! Still only midway through season 4. Been a big fan of Zooey's since 2008 so I was ecstatic when the series came out! It just became so bland and too-focused on relationship drama.

I really did not think I was going to enjoy this and while the rewatchability is very low, it was a nice way to spend some time. The humour is alright, the characters are very likeable and the slow growth of the character made it worth. I don't think there was one character I didn't like in this which is quite a feat but since they all balanced each other out, the ensemble worked great.
The runtime is perfect for this kind of show and I really appreciated that despite sad moments, the overall tone remained optimistic and fun.
I loved the show. I didn't expect the show to be so good. The last episode of season six really did it for me. Up till that point it was good but that episode made me cry. After the episode, I have to say I freaking loved the show. I loved Cece and Winston's dynamics. Glad they did that! I loved Nick and Schmidt's dynamics too. The cisheteronormativity and opposites attract philosophy was a bit too much for me. But, I actually loved the show. It was not very funny but it was heartfelt. Overall a great watch!
Let's start by saying I don't have anything truly bad to say about this show. It is good quality, with good characters, and is quite the enjoyable watch. But it is just good. The first two seasons were when the characters and quirky writing worked best for me. It is very clearly a show that is built in the realm of Friends and How I Met Your Mother, but I think it is very clearly a step behind those two. At some point the show did away with the theme song, which I found interesting. It was about that time where the writing just didn't seem as clever anymore. But again, it is still a good show. It just kind of drags on with a flimsy plot, but you can enjoy the flimsy plot. If you need some content to watch and enjoy the friendly sitcoms, I don't think you will regret checking it out.

The show is getting more stupid by every episode they release.. i watched all of it until s07e04 and the last one su*ks ass soo much im not going to watch any more.
I think I had a crush on Zooey Deschanel when I started watching this. However, it wasn't really good enough to make me keep watching.

I really did love the ending to the 6th season, why do they have to try and ruin it? I'm seriously on the fence to even continue watching it and just pretend season 6 was the last, it was just too good.

This show gets me laughing out loud every single episode.
The problem with this show is not the lack of funny bits, it's more the way they build the characters. I follow many sitcoms and often as a pattern they sort of in every episode make problems or issues to resolve to every character or group of them and often these problems go on throughout the series. Here instead they introduce the problem and then they forget about that! For example Winson's girlfriends (the one with the cats) it never evolved or something.. I don't know it feels weird to me. I'm gonna see how S05 is going and then we'll see
this show used to be funny (mainly because of Schmidt) but it turned into a show for 13yo heartbroken girls
Most the time, Jess and Nick are shouting, which I find pretty annoying. I still find Schmidt funny, but that's it for now. Zooey Deschanel always gets the same kind of role no matter what show/movie she is in. It can get boring as well.

This is one of my favourite shows in the week now. More slapstick then I'd usually go for, but damnit if it isn't fully committed. Nick makes the show for me. He's like a walking .gif magnet.

This is a great show, and I'm so glad that it is still on. A lot of shows that started around the time this one have ended. There is a great cast, good chemistry and the episodes keep it fresh. The best time I find myself watching it is Sunday evenings. I love waiting 2-3 weeks so I have a few episodes to catch up on.
Watched a couple of episodes so far and I think it's really funny and a pretty decent (new) show.
Upgraded this to an 8. It's pretty great now, after the intial ten wobbly episodes of the first series.

Like most sitcoms New Girl has its ups and downs, but altogether has a good enough heart to it that I found myself binging all seven seasons in about six weeks. It definitely gets weaker as the show goes on, but there's still trademark quirkiness throughout so I found myself anchored by an extremely good cast of characters.
