Vile trash. The glue of my relationship with my beloved.
I binged this show because I wanted something light after 4 seasons of The Handmaid's Tale (lol).
It's very sad to see people in their late 20s-30s saying that they had no meaningful conversations in their relationships prior to this show, where they were kind of forced to talk for hours without actually seeing the person they were talking to. Some of them even had a 5-year relationship before, but they had no deep convos. That is really very sad.
The show itself is surprisingly enjoyable, naturally, they focus on the crazy drama queens (including at least one man) rather than the sweeter people. I was actually on my toes during the wedding episode to see who is tying the knot after all.
A strange thing is, there were a couple of contestants that have been shown in the first episode for seconds, and then maybe in the last episode (2-year reunion), but we had no clue who they are, and Love is Blind said nothing about them, like they weren't there at all. I mean, they could have added at least some lines that "yes, there were other people in this experiment, but they didn't make it, so we didn't include them in the final cut." I feel extra pity for the man that was only featured once by saying that he is still a virgin.
Season 5 rated a 5
Don't get sucked into this tripe unless you enjoy watching immature people scheming against one another and generally behaving badly. It's depressing knowing that people like this pass you on the street every day.
This show is sad and depressing. Americans will scoff at the idea of arranged marriages and then seriously consider relationships like these. The show bills itself as you have to get married in 10 days but in reality you're picking from a pool of applicants in much less time than that. Only the slowpokes pick on day 10. You lockdown and pick someone for marriage in like 5 days. it's ridiculous. Especially for people so performative and emotionally immature.
They all talk like they want real love lasting long term relationships and they have zero interest in getting to know one another. Nick and Vanessa Lachey should both be punched in the crotch for this nonsense. Bring back old style dating shows where the goal was just a date and not "Go directly to marriage do not collect 200 text messages". As oversexed and undignified as shows like Fifth Wheel and Elimidate or even Studs were, at least they weren't suggesting you get into a legally binding contract over a TV show.
I wish people would stop making me watch this. I thought I was done with last season but i can already tell I'm gonna have to do it again.

Don't expect anything incredible out of this. The concept is interesting, but anyone watching that has any sense of emotional maturity will know it's all for entertainment's sake.
There's no growth; the players will continue to be players, the dramatic will continue to be dramatic. This ain't about changing how people date or form relationships or fall in love.
If you're looking something to turn your brain off to during the quarantine, go for it. If you're looking for something with actual improvement of the cast, look elsewhere.
