Why spare the expense of a trial and risk letting go of dozens of killers, to prosecute someone who killed a cold blooded criminal, who should have been in prison, but wasn't because of the flaws of the justice system. The guy done us a service. I wouldn't prosecute. The justice system failed, so what else? Seems justified to me. Especially since the criminal would likely steal and kill again. The case was shaky anyway against the former cop. Just why bother? Jack was wrong here.
