I knew Chester Lake wasn't in the show for very long, but damn, didn't expect him to go out that way. Crazy.
I don't mind, though. Like I said before, I don't think he was a good character. He was an unnecessary addition to the cast.
Finally another good season finale.

A sloppy plot and character motivations, and a tragic end. Casey tried to do right. She doesn't deserve this. Damn our justice system! It is so flawed. What a really sad episode. Everyone arguing with each other, distrusting each other, Casey being brought up against the barr, Lake being arrested for murder, holy shit, he's finished. And Finn's putting in for a transfer. Melinda not going along with Casey. At least the bad guy is dead, that's the only consolation, but damn, at the expense of Lake's freedom. He'll be going to prison for over a decade at least and his career is ruined. Why didn't he at least cover it up? He would still be able to sleep at night. But, he didn't do that. Damn, what a sad episode.
I thought Lake was an alright character, and we'd seen him around a bit before he became a regular. I thought he had potential to be a good character, but damn, this is his end. Imagine rewatching and knowing this is going to be the end for him.
If this is going to be the end of Casey for a while, then i'm definitely going to miss her, i like her a lot. In 1 episode this season we saw a different lawyer take on a case, and i liked her too, so i'd be fine if she became the new attorney.
