Benson is so "righteous". When it suits her... hypocritical idiot. Do as i say, not as i do type. Been hating her character for years and counting...
What exactly did Benson think would happen? The husband was a manipulating, violent man... and she really expected that he'd leave her alone even if the trial had gone in her way? That's ridiculous. As long as she breathes he would feel slighted because she dared getting away from him. Why not prosecute him for hurting her? Then proceed with the custody question and while he's in prison for abuse, she and her daughter could have been relocated.
Sorry, but this was ill thought through - and now the wife is dead, and the one who presumably had her killed has custody of the daughter. Great ending.
That's an unexpected character development for Cabot. Kind of neat to check back in on old characters like that.
But, yeah, that was completely on Benson. I know it's a law show, and so you can't have the protagonist breaking or skirting the law too much, but come on... that was just a stupid decision.

Not at all happy with that ending! I want to know what happens to the husband! Great to see Alex back in the series if only for one episode.
