Wow, that was unexpectedly soft for this show... A meek "both side have issues", and implying it is just another round in the cycle of violence.
There are dozens of clips of Israeli leaders explicitly calling for genocide and ethnic cleansing. Yet they only showed a guy saying "there is no humanitarian crisis". There's a bit of critic of Netanyahu and mentions that there are protests against him, but none that he's actually facing charges, and that keeping the war going is also a way to keep himself out of prison.
main segment: Israel-Hamas war (as a casual introduction to the region's politics and conflicts this is good. Honestly, if you show just a little interest in politics, you should know all of this already. In 30 minutes you can't solve this conflict though. You can't even explain it thoroughly. All you can do is to stir up emotions. Not sure that's what the region needs though. But this is a show and not PBS. John shows the suffering and hopelessness of the Palestinian people. That's okay. Palestinians are the weak party. It's not wrong to help the weak and hold the stronger to higher standards. And it's totally okay to tell a friend when they are making everything worse by sending the cavalry in. I'm not saying that John excuses what Hamas did. And he's not saying that Israel has no right to defend itself. However, it's remarkable how little time he spends on explaining why Israel is shocked and why it needs to take steps to end continuing attacks from the Gaza strip and Lebanon. He doesn't bother to show crying Israelian kids... And he's coming very close to declaring that Israel's war in Gaza violates international law - I'm not so sure about that. Perhaps he should be much more cautious to imply that Israels actions are war crimes. I mean perhaps they are, but people are way too quick shouting "war crime", "genocide" etc. However, all in all, John does a good job showing the perspectives of both sides and not explicitly condemning only one side)
And now this: Rachel Campos-Duffy really, really needs you to know that her Husband was once in Congress
New Zealand's Bird of the Century" follow-up. John is accused of "fowl" play. Spoiler: Pūteketeke won by a wide margin. It got 20 times more votes than runner-up Kiwi
