I just totally binge-watched it. Amazing show, can't wait for the third season!
I already loved Sandrah Oh, but never had seen Jodie, she's incredible!
This is definitely one of my favorite shows.

So I thoroughly enjoyed the first season of Killing Eve, but unfortunately I feel the sophomore effort was nowhere near as strong. Though continuing to have phenomenal performances, great kills and some genuine tension, this season slowed down to an absolute crawl in parts while just being flat-out dull in others.
On the positive side, every performance in this show is amazing. Jodie Comer continues to give the performance of a lifetime as Villanelle, often managing to lull the audience into a false sense of security with her character while also never forgetting the true, psychopathic nature of the character. Sandra Oh is equally phenomenal as the much more down-to-earth Eve Polastri, and her realization that she's not as different from Villanelle as she originally thought is very investing. Fiona Shaw may be my favourite in the season, however, as she continously outdoes everyone on screen with a bizarrely charming bravado, though she also manages to get across some incredible development with just an expression or a joke.
This season also has some great sequences of tension, especially in the scenes where Villanelle confronts Eve or someone close to her. No spoilers, but there's a sequence in a storage unit which may be my favourite scene of hers so far, as she is absolutely terrifying in it. The finale also kicks the entire series into twelfth gear, providing the tensest and most action-packed instalment of the series yet, resulting in an ending as emotional as it is gory.
However the problem with this season is it's script and it's pacing. Right from the get-go it feels like there's something a bit off about this season, and this is brought to light when you realise that the season is halfway through and very little has happened. There are so many side-plots, minor characters and detours that this season just starts to fall apart at the seams, not helped by the fact that the most major of the new characters is incredibly boring and only starts showing signs of improvement in the finale. There's also storyline that started off being very engaging but ends up feeling utterly pointless and a lot like filler.
Overall, Season Two of Killing Eve was a very disappointing sophomore effort. Though the performances continued to be great and the tension continued to be high, the plot was such a mess that it really started to get on my nerves and by the end of the season I was feeling pretty hollow at the entire ordeal. Fine, but not great.
Best Episode: You're Mine
Worst Episode: Nice and Neat
Overall Score: 65%
Oh my god this is so confusing. I love this show so much!!! Jodie Comer is a hidden and underappreciated gem. She performs so well in this show. You'll have a great time watching this. I love how this show exposes the emotional side of the villain yet make a good conflict on the protagonist side??? Can't wait for S3!!!
Feels a bit more dry than I remember season 1 being, but it also leans harder into the Hannibal meets James Bond meets, like a workplace comedy thing, which I'm really into. That dryness makes the very pulpy storylines feel a bit strange, though. In hannibal, the killers feel seductive because the visuals and mood of the show lure you in, in Killing Eve, I understand that the character is being seductive, and I understand why the other character might fall for that, but the difference between understanding something and feeling makes a big difference in this kind of show.
That sounds overly negative, tho. I still like this season a lot. The characters and their roles are well defined now, so the surprises maybe don't hit as hard, but having those relationships in stone makes watching all these people work together engaging in it's own way.

10/10 from me. I loved the storyline of this season, them working together and how we got to see the glimpses of Eve's dark side coming out and traces of humanity buried deep, deep inside Villanelle which I hope they'll explore more in s3. I mean, never have I had such conflicted feelings for a villain, one moment I think she's sweet and I worry something will happen to her, the next I scream at the screen for them to arrest that psycho before she kills someone else. :joy: That's how amazing actress Jodie is. The acting is top notch just like in s1. But, this score is mostly for Villanelle's impeccable fashion sense and that pink hair color that's absolutely stunning.
Now I'm eagerly waiting for s3.
