For me, this season stands as the most underwhelming in the show's history. I'm left with the impression that the majority of this group of designers would have struggled to advance halfway through the competition in any other year. The choice to crown Monika as the winner embodies this sentiment.
The show's main problem, especially with judging, seems to be the 'you’re only as good as your last project' mindset. This means some really strong contenders get left behind, even though most of them end up making the final. But this time around, things didn't go that way. If they had to pick someone, it should've been Jack - he actually won challenges and was more consistent throughout the competition.
