Not bad,plenty of carpet munching!
Although the plot is pretty similar to many other shows of recent times, it is a decent show with a good mix of characters. That said, the setup for season 3 was just poor lazy writing and i don't think i will be tuning in for it.
The end of Season 3 is so stupid... especially when it is supposedly the end. When the network clearly says it is the last and final season, and hands you exactly 7 episodes to wrap up... how dumb should you be to finish it with so many loose and open ends?! With the exception that Frankie Sr got killed, nothing else seems closed... is the moral of the story, that everyone in High Town, continues to get high and that Jackie finally gets a reality check and meekly accepts it... I have no clue what it means and why a season 3 was required for this nonsensical end... Alan is unhappy... Ray and Renee are working out a new normal, with both under the debt of Osito... an entire police department was found at fault... the DA doesn't want to pursue the case... so who exactly wins?? Apparently, nobody is happy, or wins, except the drug sellers...
I honestly didn't enjoy it as much as I thought I would. Maybe it's because I've been waiting for it for a long time. I may have expected it too much. It has potential to improve though. I don't like the slow pace. We are getting to know the characters though. To all the "hard-partying lesbian ruined it for me" crowd, borrowing Junior's line, welcome to P-Town you homophobic pricks.
One of those shows, that, like Little Fires, I wish was released in binge style/fashion/format.
Yup ….. 10000% yes… smart , sexy , funny
Only two episodes in, but worth watching at 2x speed. I think I biased myself in the people commenting about how slow it is, because I find myself checking the runtime life at 15-20 minutes (even while sped up) where I normally get that urge around 45.
by the time i got through S3E7, i felt there was an remaining episode required to end the series properly. everywhere i check (bar one site) says there's only 7 episodes. how weird
Bruckheimer has really captured the essence of the massholes living on the cape. You can tell because you want to keep watching despite the fact that there are literally zero likeable characters and even the cops are scumbags. Highly recommend this series and if you have never been to Mass, this show paints a very realistic picture. Enjoy.
This is good. It's a solid 8 after the 1st season, and I rated it a 9 because I suspect two groups are voting it down. The prudes are going to ignore the MA rating and vote it down because there's a fair bit of sexy time going on, and the conservatives are going to vote it down because it's "too woke" having a strong female lead. IF you're not in one of those two groups you'll probably enjoy it. The show has some dark characters which suits a crime drama well. I had no trouble binging it and want to watch the 2nd season.
The two female leads were excellent actresses. The story was face-paced and I was definitely kept on the edge of my seat. However, Jackie and Ray are such nasty ungrateful humans. It was very difficult to feel empathy for them or relate to their misfortune because they were just awful people. Some of it was also hard to believe e.g. how Ray so easily forgave Renee for betraying him, and they were suddenly 'in love' based on a brief affair. It was also aggravating to see the police force treat women that way and give Ray the job after everything he did?
Season 1 was great .. but season 2 is pathetic .. stopped after 3 episodes.... boring ...
No wonder she left Chicago Fire. Booo

The homophobic crowd will go crazy with this series :joy:.
Recommended if you like slow burner, atmospheric crime stories. Pilot is quite good, I’m hooked already. Monica Raymund does a great job, big improvement over Chicago Fire.
