Ah the main lead is so annoyingly adorable! I am HONESTLY in love with Go-eun and her acting. It is what I acknowledge as skillful art and Yoo Gong is also doing a good job so far. WAIT, other than that!
Dong-wook oppa (I can't believe I'm doing this) has my heart. Both his acting, facial expertise and voice acting are top! Words can't acknowledge this guy enough. And yeah I totally ship them, figure who lol
Episode 4, 10/12/2021
Dropped.
I made it over half-way through, but I couldn't get behind the age gap between the main characters, especially given the fact that she behaved and acted younger than the age of her character, and he was the exact opposite. Not to mention the fact that ML started off as more of a parental figure, only to then transition into being a love interest. I was just too creeped out by how groom-y that felt.
I was hesitant to watch this show due to following reasons : -
+/- Story &CAST
- The actors do a superb job. I could feel their emotions from across the screen. then again, nothing less to be expected from such a spectacular cast.
-The drama has everything, ranging from bromance, romance to mystery and suspense.
-The bromance is spectacular. One of the most epic bromance I've ever seen in a Kdrama. It made me laugh a lot, but it also had its heartwarming and heart-wrenching moments. Goblin and Grim Reaper's relationship is one of the best reasons to pick this up.
-The two couples- Goblin & Eun Tak and Grim Reaper & Sunny. Both couples had their own story. The sweet and cute moments of the Goblin couple & the sizzling chemistry between Grim Reaper and Sunny was enough to keep the 'romance' meter of the drama pretty high. You won't be able to get enough of the cuteness of Goblin & Eun Tak.
-The mystery of the characters. From 'the lady in red' to the king and queen, each episode just gave enough glimpse into their lives to keep us engrossed. It'll drive you crazy in a good way.
- Gong Yoo was amazing and Go-eun was very good well suited for this show. I almost didn't watch this show because of her role in TKEM which was badly written.
+/- Music:
All of the music was perfectly interwoven with the filmography! I couldn't believe my eyes and ears when Gong Yoo and Lee Dong Wook came strutting down the dark road, it was just pure matrimony. I am a huge fan of the soundtrack and have been listening to it on repeat for at least 2-3 days straight. My favorite song from the album changes from day to day, so that tells you that all of it is simply amazing.
BONUS: Beautiful and addictive OST
+/- CONS:
I personally didn't find anything even remotely bad about it, but that's not to say other people won't, so here's a few things you should keep in mind before venturing into it.
-The age difference between Goblin [ (~939) he was 39 when he died and then immortal for 900 years] and Eun Tak (19). Although the age difference between cast is 10 years so i didn't feel weird in most scenes . Their first kiss was after they she turns 20 and they don't skin-ship in school uniform Compared to Doctors show where they have similar age difference
-Comparatively less screen time for Sunny and Grim Reaper couple. But I suppose that's to be expected specially since the title alone indicates that Kim Shin (Goblin) is the main lead, so it's no wonder they get the most screen time.
-Worst product placement you'll ever see in a Kdrama. You might think I'm kidding but sometimes even the smallest thing can annoy you. I personally found those scenes amusing though.
Overall its a good drama and although at times the plot is slow you will still enjoy the ending... Although i rate this highly it still doesn't have a rewatch value as their is around 40-50% of plot thats very slow paces and almost like a filler.
One of the most over-rated k-drama in the recent years!!
The idols of coz are great, as well as the Set and the beautiful photography. However, the screenplay is just a bunch of shits without much realistic elements from our real life.
I'd recommend this to anyone who wants to see literally anything in a drama. It had that sweet friendship between men, beautiful romance, lots of scenes of just being good humans.
And then it was also a supernatural show so there's the grim reaper powers and goblin powers. There's ghosts and reincarnation. It's been a week or two since I watched it and my mind's still buzzing. it's one of the first dramas I would actually watch again just for the nice warm buzz it gave. So rare for shows to actually touch you like this did.
If you're thinking about watching Goblin, do it. Probably the best series I've watched - writing, characters, acting, everything. There are some cliche moments, of course, but they're done so well. 97/100
I think I've spent all my treats. I love this drama, I love the story, I love the soundtrack.
Easily entered my favorite drama list. I find it very well narrated, the development of the characters and the story is done very well. I would have seen a thousand other such episodes. I loved the chemistry between the two main male characters, Gong Yoo and Lee Dong-Wook, and hope to see them together again. Kim Go-eun (Ji Eun-tak), the lead character, did a great job and I loved her character.
Totally recommended.
it felt like the goblin was grooming the main character over and over again. the side character romance was more intriguing. i only kept watching for lee dongwook :)
This was one of the most beautiful series I've ever seen. Not only was the acting, the production quality, and OST beyond fantastic, the plot was heartwarming, heartbreaking, and all around extremely well done.
Amor imenso por este Dorama.
I enjoyed this drama greatly. It had a spectacular storyline and amazing actors. I loved everything about it. I just had some issues or some parts that I didn't really enjoy but overall it was very enjoyable and comical at times. I liked the friendship between Goblin and the Grim Reaper. I liked the way Goblin and Eun Tak would interact. Sungjae was also a nice mix into it all. I believe this drama is worth the watch because I would say I enjoyed 85% of it making it one of my highest rated dramas which are quite hard to find.
It's a very beautiful series
Of the few k dramas I've watched so far, in terms of quality of actors, cinematography, and direction this is my favorite one. The chemistry between Gong Yoo and Kim Go-Eun felt very real to me. There were some story telling and plot direction bobbles but overall did this make me cry and connect with me? Yes. I felt drawn to these characters stories in episode 1. The supporting cast was great and enjoyable to watch. I can't wait for the next series by KES and this director- I really hope they pair up again. Also, the breathtaking opening captured me instantly. The music was one of the best OST i've ever heard in my life.
What a beautiful show ^___^
I have seen a lot of Korean dramas lately but never before have a drama capture me so bad that i cried for days. Gong's acting was amazing and i loved all the actors. The way their relationship's rose was amazing and so beautiful that you don't see very often in Asian dramas now days.
So all i have to say is a very very well down drama that it was stayed in my heart . And i believe the ending was a very well fitting .
What an amazing series and regarding the ending ...
Would I have preferred a happy ending with rainbows and a big bow? Probably, because I am sucker for happy endings. But I am not dissatisfied with the ending we got, because I felt it was earned and what the characters needed.
Sunny and Grim Reaper needed a clean slate, to fall in love and live happily together. All her life she was always waiting and her leaving because she couldn’t forgive him would have been pointless. Love is sometimes simply not enough. And he needed to forgive himself and just love her. Not remembering was a blessing.
Eun Tak time on earth was limited, so choosing to sacrifice herself in a heartbeat and overcome her sorrow in another life, to just be him with all her memovies intact, felt right to me. Kim Shin loosing her was heartbreaking. But this time he wasn’t waiting for his bride to end his life, he was waiting for her to live his life. I believe, that in the end he would be able to leave this life behind together with her. Be it at the end of her second life or fourth.
This show was so good. The OST was flawless.
Literally EVERYTHING I could ever want in a TV show. It's fantasy, historical and modern at the same time; it had me doubled over in laughter and crying my eyes out in the same episode. Both romances are absolutely fantastic, and there are even a few mysteries to solve. I really cannot describe how much I love it, except by saying that I have already watched it twice and I want to watch it again. Easily my number one K-drama of all time. I highly recommend it.
Defines overathing: Goblin. The series has a reasonable start, you keep forcing yourself to watch and one hour you end up jumping out, and you have to force yourself to finish...
a master piece of a korean movie
The only good thing about this show is the acting and chemistry.
I liked the Grim Reaper dude. I love it when men are pathetically in love with a girl.
The pacing is so slow. You are in eight episodes and you say to yourself "Wow, main characters have only kissed one... and accidentally". Mind you eight episodes are around 8 hours and more.
Story is confusing. Why did the Goblin sacrifice himself so he could kill that sus scheming dude? Didn't he do it so she doesn't die? Why did she die nine years later anyway? What was the point? Also weird age gap moment between the two main characters.
The microphone is turned up for some reason a lot of the time on this show. To the point, that you would hear people moving an inch. You could hear the actors when they open their mouths bruh.
It's clear this show had a shit ton of budget why did they have 3 generic songs all through this? The show is 20 hours overall and you have 3 songs? If I hear "It's a beautiful w(l)ife" or "I love you I love you I miss you" one more time I will rip my ears out. Also I'm pretty sure the main characters stare at each other crying for 10 hours total in the show (:
Finally,I had the chance to watch a K-drama.And frankly speaking, it's more than just a mere watch and go.This one was rather a memory to remember and get reawakened with the feeling of utmost satisfaction.Everything of this drama worked amazingly for me.From the cliche rom-com to the kingdom of lies, everything was heart warming and lovable.Especially, the bromance was a great plus point for the drama. And the soundtrack was the life of it.In and all, this sweet and easy to go drama can make one crave for more of its kind and can create some extraordinarily great moments which will keep you refreshed for the rest of your life.
10/10 drama. I lost count of how many times i have cried over this beautiful drama.
The love pair are just perfect . No complaints there.
The mediocre story line was made up 10 folds by the strong acting and love bonding among them.
Personally I have seen it twice and can’t get enough
What an emotional roller coaster this show has been! At first, I don’t know what to think about the 900 years age difference but as the story progressed it didn’t matter much. Then I was heartbroken at E13 when Kim Shin died (mainly because of Eun-tak’s cries). But the scenes that undo me the most are E15-E16. It made me happy-sad- then quite satisfied with the happy ending.
The jokes are great, the soundtracks fit every moment, and the plot is very refreshing! 9/10!
I loved this, the reason why it's "only" 9/10 is because imo the second leads should've gotten more air time. I was just way more invested in their storyline.
This series was an emotional roller coaster! Great story. It was heart wrenching, frustrating, funny, sweet, romantic... The music was SO good. I loved it.
Excelent 10/10 drama.
Beautiful and sophisticated!
I only rate 7/10 for this series because of the ending = = Srsly Poor ahjusshi who had to live alone for more than 1000 years!!! in the end, he was still the most lonely goblin in this world.
This drama is absolutely great. The OST sounds good (especially the opening). The best thing about this drama is the visual quality, It really looks like a film, it's simply awesome !
Gong Yoo never disappoints! Love it!
First episode and ♥ it already!!!
--edit-- Last episode today... ♥♥♥

This is the best drama I've seen in awhile with a great OST to boot.
