I "liked" the show for different reasons but I did not like the last episode. The End was a different vibe from the rest, kind of like Riverdale, which I'm not into. whatever director's decision for her to take her moms jacket made it cheasy. still I would like a season 2 to see how it goes
Mixed feelings about this show.
Some of the choices it makes are a little ikky.
Did binge watch it in 2 days though.
Love to hate the Georgia character.
So I like the show because I am always pulled in my strong yet toxic women as well as sassy mother/daughter relationships. However, I feel like this show tried to do too much at once. Like they like sprinkled in these huge topics but none of them got the proper focus. Hopefully, each will be fleshed out in future seasons, but I felt like doing it this way almost came off dismissive.
Also, some of the more compelling, fresh storylines seemed to be set up and then they decided to just like go with the more tired, bland options. For example, Ginny is coming into her own strength and power as a woman and she is no where near the stereotype of femme fatale like her mom. They could have played into that, but instead she was just a teenager in a love triangle that caused the usual drama. Then with Georgia she starts as the femme fatale and stays power hungry. But we could have explored her pull towards a more simple life with Joe.
The character development could have been stellar but they like just missed in by a bit. Still a fantastic show just some thoughts I had.
Is this a sequel to Joe Dirt?
I really like the show, but I don’t like this kind of season finale. It’s too much manufactured drama, with multiple storylines coming to a head at the same time. They used that for network TV because of rating week, but there is no need for that in the streaming age.
If it wasn’t clear enough already that I’m too old to be in the target demographic, I had to look up who Jordyn and Kylie are.
gosh this one gives me frenzy-level anxiety from how much of a shit show it is
