Formula 1: Drive to Survive 2019

Unpopular opinion: Not really a documentary, more like propaganda.

I am an huge fan of F1, I follow it since I am 2years old with my dad...

This show is nice, as it give you some inside that you don't see on race day, some more personality trait of team manager and drivers, or some background story that happened during the season.

But it's not for me, it's SO MUCH overly dramatic and everything is lines up to tell a story that is not exactly correct.
All the effort are put in the drama, there is near nothing about racing.

I love F1, so I watched it, but it's really a pain to watch

Excellent show for the fans of F1. If you already know some of the in&outs you will love this. It's been a long time since a camera could get this close to F1 teams. A bit stupid of Netflix to show it just one week ahead of the new season. One month ahead of the new season would make more sense.

I watch F1 since the good old Schumi days and find it unrealistic and overly dramatized. But still, very entertaining and recommended for anyone that wants to get into F1. You fokin wankers

Quality is just good, but love behind-the-scenes information!

Watched it again for some excitement as we approach the start of the 2021 season. :race_car:

Does the sport justice. Can't wait for more.

I know you are trying to market F1 to an American audience, but you might want to tone it down on the sound effects. The over the top fake sounds don't happen it the race… at all. When a piece of carbon fibre wing hits the ground 30 feet from the camera it dose sot make a 'thud'.

Good visuals, silly sounds.

Fantastic, exciting. This show got me into the sport and I can't wait to see the 2019 season dramatized in season 2.

Edit: the more you get into F1, the more this show is full of $(!T...

Welcome to the (in part) Ricciardo fan-show. Where are Lewis Hamilton, Sebastian Vettel, Kimi Räikkönen in this? How is bashing some of these drivers, showing their downs, but not cheering them, showing their highs, an accurate documentary? It is not. You could argue if it is needed. You could argue if it is the aim of the show. All irrelevant. I miss the balance in this "show". It would have been fair to kick some of these drivers but also cheer them. Instead some you hardly ever see. Some are painted in a bad light and some are cheered. The relationship between Renault and Red Bull is also sometimes taken completely out of context. Don't get me wrong. I like the show and would recommend anyone to see it... but bare in mind that the creators had a very painted pair of glasses.

Can't wait for the 2020 season to be overdramatized; even though I watched it all live!

The way drive to survive shows the world of formula 1 seems to be very off, overly dramatized, and more swung towards American audiences (im American) who care more for drama and good-looking guys with fast cars.

It's a wonderful sport and the drivers are very talented but I feel the extra additions of drama just makes it feel less truthful, with staff of F1 saying that the show sometimes shows parts of other races from that year or even years prior.

But all in all even with my gripes about the way the show portrays F1, I still find it extremely entertaining for some turn your brain off time.

Hello, is it not available in Spanish or Latin????

It's a good way to get you into F1 for the first time, but it's pretty generic and often unrealistic if you already follow F1

I'm not usually big into F1, I've watched it over the years from the late 80's/early 90s with my dad at the time but in honesty the domination of 1 manufacturer usually makes it pretty boring for me

this gave f1 a whole new perspective for me and actually made me far more interested in it than I ever had been

What an amazing show, surely we missed something like this to get our attention to F1. The first couple of season were magic and S3 with the fire scene was so awesome. Hopefully get to see a race in person soon.

Season 1 review:
As a fan that follows every news related to F1 I was sceptical that this show can provide anything of interest to me.
I can happily say I was wrong. Concept of not just following the season and stories as they go along, but making episodes about different teams, rivalries and drivers really brings new perspective on the sport.
it speaks volumes that the show manages to intrigue people who aren't at all interested in racing or cars. F1 fans will find it a little bit over dramatic at times, but the fact stands that it's really nicely put together quality documentary.
