Show has been renewed for a 2nd seeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaaaaasooooooooooooonnnnnnnnnnn!
Hell yeah!
This show is outstanding! It has cool animations, good humour, great and loveable characters and overall a big, BIG heart! I'm surprised as how soon I started caring for the crew of Galaxy 1. The episodes even got better and better towards the end of the first season, despite I already fallen in love with this series after the first couple of episodes. Season 2 can't come soon enough, and Final Space needs to get much more popular, make sure to recommend it to everyone you know, they gonna love it for sure!
As great as the animation is, and the action sequeneces and the trippy sequences - Gary is just an amazingly annoying character, and possibly the worst part of the show. Really don't even want to finish the first season.
It definitely has it's own brand of comedy that some might find "cringy" or "weird." Once you aquire the taste though, this show is great. Bingable animated comedy that is unlike anything you've seen before. If you liked the awkwardness and sheer strangeness of S1 of Rick and Morty, but enjoy a bit more cohesiveness, you should absolutely check this one out
It's trying to hard to be funny which leads to it being quite cringy.
I liked a lot... Unlike most viewers, I loved the evolution of the series from a dumb comedy futurama style show, to an almost serious scifi show.
Hilarious, original, well animated and completely enthralling for any sci-fi fan. So sad it was cancelled but it’s a great show with an amazing story. Mooncake is also insanely adorable. Highly recommend.
Chookity Pok! :alien:
I'm surprised at how much I hated this. I have followed Olan Rogers for years and I liked the pilot for this that he released on his YouTube channel a lot. I was very excited to start watching and to my very unpleasant surprise I couldn't even get through the first episode...Gary was so annoying, the humour too cringy and I could barely understand what was going on because the show just couldn't keep my attention. I'm not sure I'll keep watching.
this show is amazing. there is so much emotion, funny moments, sad moments, I thought I would never see that in an animated series, but here it is. I am not an emotional person usually but some scenes are really sad and full of emotion. I strongly recommend looking those.
Utter garbage.
Gary is the typical toxic macho sleezeball that can't take no for an answer, emotionally manipulates everyone, including an orphan child thirsty for revenge. No moral lessons here.
The plot is absolutely absurd and only serves as a power fantasy. It's as if outside of the lives of the 5-6 people, no one else does anything or matters, as hundreds get murdered by the leading ensemble.
Final Space is soooooooooooo UNDERRATED!!!!!!!
I recommend it to everyone that I talk to and like animated shows or anything Sci-Fi, a lot of people write it off as a Rick and Morty rip off without watching it and that is criminal in my opinion as the show is so incredibly unique. All of the characters are written so well and they make you feel every emotion they are going through. Definitely check it out if you have time and I recommend it if you have kids over 12 as the humour isn't rude and I imagine most kids might find some of the episodes might even teach them a few life lessons.
If you love Sci-Fi or Action or just want to laugh or cry then check this little gem out.
Note: Gary's voice in the first episode can be a little annoying but give it one episode and you can tell Olan (voice actor) gets better. Also, I was balling crying when they ended it and found out it has been cancelled and can only say I hope Netflix or someone picks this show up to let Olan finish this masterpiece after Season 3.
Trying to finish the third episode, but it's really dumb.
Wow! Mind=blown. Seriously, was reading up a review on Ars regarding Disenchantment (ugh, don't watch btw), and I noticed somewhere in the comments a show named 'Final Space'. Huh, I thought, I wonder where I've seen that. Turns out, it had been waiting for me to see it in Netflix. I'd seen it as a suggestion and wanted to watch it later, but never managed to add it to my list.
Anyway, time is a bit past 1AM, I decide to give it a chance, as I was not feeling sleepy (Damn you sleep disorder!). Needless to say, I was immediately hooked. I don't want to spoil anything, just be prepared for an emotional rollercoaster, and a good one at that. Lost my chance to sleep because I watched the whole season in one sitting, ending in around 5:30 AM.
I've read people comparing it to Rick and Morty, but the only connection between them is their genre I'd say. Both are funny in their own ways, but Final Space is more plot driven than Rick and Morty which tends to have a very loose plot.
The plot is straight to the point, no bullshit. If you like Sci-Fi and Fantasy, do yourself a favor and just watch it. It's well worth it :)
A bit too much american humor for my taste.
“Traps are just open casting calls for heroes." "Final Space" follows Gary Goodspeed as he travels the universe with a group of friends in search of the last point in the universe. Gary has a few screws loose from serving a multi-year sentence in an isolated space prison where his only companions were a ship and a robot that he loathes. Gary gets in the cross hairs of the evil Lord Commander after finding a planet destroying space alien that Gary names Mooncake. Many more join the journey along the way. Chaos, humor and tragedy follow wherever they go. This is one of the more creative and unique shows out there. Lots of depth. If you don't have an open mind or are looking for some traditional, stay away. Leave the cookies for Gary.
The animation is also spectacular with some amazing space sequences. Pretty amazing. With that said, there is a pretty big complaint among some watchers. Gary, as part of his nature, is an incredibly annoying character. He, and others, can be awkward and too uncomfortable for some to handle. I find it hysterical, but if you're someone who struggles with "annoying" characters, then this is not for you.
"Final Space" got the axe before the creators planned on ending the show. That being said, they were given a full season to wrap things up so there is a conclusion in all of this. After "Final Space" was taken out of streaming for a tax write off (yep, look it up), the creator vowed to bring the show back even if it takes years. "I like the way" he "speaks words."
Chookity!!!
8/10
Thankfully, WB gave Olan Rogers to finish his story of this show. Unfortunately (for some people) it will be only through graphic novel

This show is phenomenal. It manages to capture heavy emotion, absolute absurdity, and a plot most live actions shows would dream of, all at the same time.
The absolute best part of this show is the soundtrack. I think it might boast the best score of any show on television... animated or otherwise.
cant believe this has been cancelled and we will never get a true ending to this. Please make a movie just to wrap things up.
Season 1: Amazing! Couldn't stop laughing :joy:. Season 2: Ahem, what's going on? Crazy but still fun. Season 3: WTF? Contradictions, random ideas, no follow-throughs, SO MUCH DRAMA! Hated it! this series is like the Tobey Maguire Spiderman films... Let's say there were only 2, and forget the 3rd one.
Love it, love it, love it.
Even my wife who doesn't follow the show stays addicted when I'm watching and she doesn't know why lol :joy:
very underappreciated, yet epic show.
update: sad news! the show has been officially cancelled after 3 seasons. vid from creator Olan Rogers https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bFg3ljZF2kA
Underrated show. I didn't expect to enjoy it so much. It gets better with every episode. Chookity!
I loved this series, the humour and action was strong all the way through the space journey and the characters grew on me quick specially (Gary) that just made the whole series for me. I’m hoping for more seasons. XD
Hooooooooooow is this show not more popular? Why did I have to find out about it by chance? So far, 3 episodes in, it's fantastic fun and pretty well animated. The fact that the plot spans over the whole first season or even whole show makes it all the more interesting, love those Babylon 5 esque space operas! ;)
No, but really, good stuff and I sincerely hope that enough ppl watch it so that we get more than one season at least.
Not what I was expecting, so so much more! Not like Futurama or Simspons a whole different kind of animated show.
Gripping from the first episode, the show keeps you guessing!
Such a good show. Love the characters. I’m so disappointed that this show is now a tax write-off and will disapaear forever. Shame on you WB.
Just f**k off Warner Bros Discovery :middle_finger:
It got a lot of trouble to finish the Show, the 1st season is cool, but the rest, meh.
This is amazing. Funny as hell.
The first season is great!! I fell in love. But I fell out of love when I started the 2nd season... A mess. The piss fight? ... Disgusting... Could watch more than 4 eps...
Final Space is a wonderful show, it has a lot of fun and sad moments, all combo is within in the pack.
Final Space suffers from The Walking Dead syndrome in some episodes, you get good moments only in the beginning or at the very end of the episode, the rest is useless things that have no involvement in the development of the characters or are just boring line moments with annoying characters being annoying. The show also has a pacing problem.
It has amazing awe dimension shattering events, though it gets constantly undercut for its annoying one lines and unfunny jokes. This is more in the lines with Regular Show + Adventure Time rather than Rick and Morty, but trying to have the cake and eat it too by trying to be serious while undercutting as stated. We have a key moment with nice pacing being halt because X character needs a funny line or needs to be insufferable. KNV is one of them, but Gary is the worse, while every character having they annoyance moment.
They should've balanced jokes vs seriousness better.
I'm at sixth episode, but this show is really amazing, way much better than RnM. Amazing voice acting and amazing comedy, all that inside their own universal things. Perfect touches!
Not sure how I missed this when it first came out, but glad I finally started watching it. It's a bit quirky and random at points, but once you get used to the whiplash changes from manic whimsy to deadly serious, there's a good story in there.
But christ is the Tribore subplot tedious. And yet you're forced to watch that part just in case it has the least bearing on the rest of the show.
Are we getting season 3? Please
A host of characters that are endearing, and a story that is evolving. What a good show. I really want to know how it ends.
I wish this was a Netflix show, I could spend an entire day binging this.

I kind of wished this might be a Netflix show so it could get a wider audience, but i'll see how the season turns out. It's nothing but zany so far. Interesting style, semi-predictable plot from the second episode, and has elements of Invader Zim, Farscape, and a beautiful art style for the world building.
The Pilot is ... tedious. It's still fun, Mostly because they introduce a 'gag' moment where Gary is on the cusp of dying, and this primes you for a very different character moment in the show towards the end of the pilot, and you'll get the theme of the show from that point on, i.e.
it's a rollercoaster of drama and irritating moments. and occasionally action and fast moving scenes that remind me of Invader Zim, but also some of the action moments from Rick and Morty Season 3/4, but slightly faster-paced and more stylised. Still, it's quite good for animation to deliver on those surprises.
(When the bounty hunter turns up, the name is Avocato, not Avocado, though.)
But stick with it, the 2nd episode cuts down on the background and just jumps right into the first arc of the show, which will likely be where they pivot and explain the title in the main arc of the show, i.e. Redeeming Gary, by going on serially botched adventures, one at a time. Even if it cribs a little bit from the Marvel Guardians of the Galaxy a tad too much at times, it's more of a homage than theft at this point since Gary the main protagonist, is supposed to be bitterly unlikeable and profoundly stupid, and yet, all you can say after he's driving you insane is ... he means well.
I did like the more adult themes and blood which is unique in western animation, and the voice acting talent is superb. Some of the 3D roto work is impressive and the gags are well tuned and zany rather than telegraphed too much in advance.
