All the men this season suck, don't they?
Wow, I have never gone from zero to hate so quickly with a character as I did with Lars during his "wife" monologue; I was rooting so hard for Indira to punch him in the face.
JJL is so, so good in this episode.
Almost all the man characters are man children.
Sure it's great. Sure it has all the ingredients that make Fargo great: the absurdity, the occasional dark comedy scene, great actors (JJL is particularly great in this episode), ambiguous characters, great cinematography, a location plus the accents and people too often overlooked in national TV (Midwestern Republicans), a certain darkness, brutality, unnecessary violence, sadness and a supernatural mystery character (sporting a skirt for good measure). Plus the usual capitalism criticism and domestic violence that is - at least in this case - interwoven with conservative beliefs about family values. Nothing wrong about all this and entertaining AF. However, at this point, I start to think that the core story is extremely simple. An abused woman escapes, hides, starts a new life and her psychopath ex wants her back (or wants to punish if he can't have her back). That's it. That's the whole story. Other seasons of Fargo felt way more complex ... Sure there are some side stories that may still be in for a surprise (like the golfer guy, like the bank owner etc.) but the complexity of the main story is underwhelming.
What I don't understand: Didn't Munch kill some of his fellow deputies? And Roy obviously knows (minus perhaps the murder at the gas station). Still he's suddenly been paid for doing (or better: not doing) the job? Didn't Roy try to not pay Munch and kill him last time to not leave any witnesses and traces that could lead back to Roy after the failed kidnapping of Dot? I don't get it...
Almost everything this season has been a complete snoozefest, and it has some weird elements again that dont fit in the show. Idk. Leigh is good. Hamm is good at everything he does, but the character is still boring. I usually like the subject, but idk... It's just been so in your face and weird with it
I love how each character in this show is being developed. We spend enough time on each of them to understand who/what they are and why they've been behaving like this since episode 1.

If they don't give us a very good reason for that Cop to be with that man child soon... She's becoming a loser by proxy, totally ruining her character.
