Ray finally got what he wanted.
And then he rejected it.
And then he died.
"The Lord of No Mercy" is a fair episode that sees Emmit inadvertently murder his brother Ray, both played Ewan McGregor. While I found this scene contrived and mostly implausible, I enjoyed the subtle tension throughout this episode, especially when Emmit is "questioned" by Gloria and Winnie. I was somewhat let down by how V.M. Varga dealt with the IRS agent, but I suspect he will come back later this season.
Overall, pretty fair.
By far the scariest scene in all seasons of Fargo so far? Varga "picking" his teeth!
Loving this season. Such a well constructed episode! And outstanding performances by everybody, particularly David Thewlis. Certainly wasn't expecting Ray to go but it's so fitting that the stamp leads to it.
Great scene in Emmit's office, with the exchanges between Gloria and Varga. And it's genius that Gloria's technological troubles end up meaning he can't Google her or even find proper information for the police... love that!
"I'm so rarely seen, maybe I don't even exist"
And finally a real "Fargo" episode. Where The death is the most natural thing. Great episode that make me remember seasons one and two.
Isn't Ewan McGregor wonderful? And i know he's a murder and all, but i would trust Vargas to clean up my mess any day.

That is a shitty way to die. I did like how they pulled the ole switch-a-roo on who we thought was going to die. I laughed when I saw his gun in the cheese drawer.
