after 2 great episodes, this was kind of a letdown... the whole Dracula at the present could've worked, i kinda like the direction they were going with the final reveal, but there's too many bad plot points... the lawyer saving Dracula? the entirety of the Lucy sub-plot? just disapointting... i must praise Claes Bang acting as Dracula though and Dolly Wells as Van Helsing, two of the best things coming from this show alongside the great gore/horror scenes
Despite being only 3 episodes in length, I feel that this series went into a downward spiral. The show runners clearly handled poorly the transfer of the legend of Dracula into current days, all the magic from the previous episodes seems to have been lost and replaced by that familiar vibe that's typical of modern days British TV shows. At some point I felt like I was watching a mashup of Doctor Who, Sherlock and Lucifer, with a dash of Californication (granted, those latter two are not British shows and come from the same mind, but the protagonists there do share some similarities with Count Dracula). Also, this season (series?) finale seems to have shifted gears and went from delicious creepy horror to bland comedy. This episode was, indeed, all over the place and the plot became ludicrous, at best. That is definitely no way to finish what they started.
It was still somewhat entertaining, but it just was not the same, anymore. I even fell asleep somewhere halfway through (just for a tiny bit, though).
Then the rotten cherry on top comes in the form of a cheesy and unnecessary romantic ending. That was the final nail in the coffin (no pun intended) that made me drop the rating on this episode from 7 to a 6.
Just imagine that this show would end up being what the synopsis promised it to be: a bloodthirsty Count Dracula moving from Transylvania to Victorian London and slowly crawling his way to the top. Now, that's exciting, right? Too bad that wasn't even close to what they've delivered, in the end.
All in all, Dracula is a show still worthy of wasting our time with it, the actor portraying the Count is a lot of fun to watch and the nun is pretty great in the first two episodes. It's just a pity they weren't able to wrap things up at the same excellent level that they began them with.
Cue the complaints as people can't seem to enjoy something the way it is, the way it ends up being, all because they'd rather it be the way they want it to be. I'm sure most of it stems from the strong, majority-populated dislike of Steven Moffat. Hatred or a strong dislike is like poison, deadly and hard to get rid of, no matter what. Once it originates, once it starts spreading, it is practically impossible to rid yourself of it. At this point, people will hate anything that he's involved in even when, especially when, it is utterly ridiculous. As far as the finale is concerned, a bit lackluster, yes, but a decent conclusion. Taking it a step further, an apparent conclusion. There could be more, another season, maybe more: a continuation. I'd love that. This has been an enthralling experience to watch. I want more. I need more.
Terrrible ending. Totally unsatisfactory. How could they end a show in such an atrocious manner. There were plenty of problems with this show but I could overlook them, mostly. The last episode was ghastly. And HELLO...what ever happened to the room they were in in the second episode. What even was that?
This started out very promising (the highly skilled and resourceful secret organisation), became complete and utter bullshit (turns out the secret organisation isn't that skilled or resourceful or influential at all. I mean, their Wi-Fi password is "Dracula" and some sleazeball of lawyer can can just waltz in and get Dracula out? Are you fucking kidding me???), made some questionable plot decisions and somehow managed to arrive at a rather satisfying ending. This show was all over the place and I don't know how I should find it. But clearly Moffat had lost his mojo for some time now. The last through and through good thing he wrote was Sherlock's "The Abominable Bride".
On another note. He was given the ultimate power - no limits. He could have lived forever while walking in the day, not fearing the cross, not needing to be invited in, etc...but this narcissist, vile, evil, self indulgent, heartless, conscience-seared fiend decides to end it all??? ♂♂
Utterly unforgivably bad even before the use of a Gary Barlow song; Dracula's third episode is a trainwreck of a finale that makes Dracula Untold (which is only a few minutes longer than this episode and that was a feature length movie released in cinemas) look like Citizen Kane in comparison. It's a complete and utter mess. The storytelling is the very essence of a script that thinks it's smarter than it actually is, and if you thought the second episode was Moffat and Gatiss at their most self-indulgent then you haven't seen anything yet because this is a new brand of awfulness altogether.
I did love the performances throughout though - Claes Bang and Dolly Wells deserved a much, much better Dracula adaption as Bang is one of the best Draculas that we've had in an age; and I still love nearly all of Moffat's work on Doctor Who and think his run on the series doesn't deserve as much flack as it does, but this is the worst thing that he's worked on to date and I can't offer any kind of defence for it. It didn't need to be as long as it was and just like Dracula drinking blood from his victims, any sign of life that this show had is sucked dry by the end.
Simply omit watching this episode and forget the last 10 seconds of episode 2. Extremely disappointing finale.
Started out good, but the last episode completely ruined it. Real offbeat teen drama themed episode at Tommy Wiseau levels of social interactions.
Well they really derped it with this show, like wow, the first two episodes were fine, in fact somewhat promising. A time jump??? REALLY? Implausible. And this organization, that have been studying him for a century...just derps it all up...she's a scientist....yet, drinks the blood before even testing it :| And the whole lawyer shit, wtf? He kills people....bring him to court then? Dumb af. The story line should have remained in the past...with him escaping and Agatha somehow being rescued and gradually turning into what she hates/loves the most.
Watching it completely I must conclude that this has een pretty much a waste of time and a waste of promis.. This has Moffat all over it, so much so that it's difficult to see at times if this is an episode of Sherlock, Doctor Who or the Jekkyl series... Most of these shows (for the most part) were better cause they were novel and didnt' include any immasculation or other current-day bullshit.
It's too longwinded, too stuck-up, too cliché, too much filled with agenda, too simple and too gimmicky. Go watch Bram Stokers' Dracula or any of the other gazillion shows and movies about this once monstrous and feared character.
Everyone in these comments is so boring this ending was a slay and i had a lot of fun watching
It’s also really cool if you know the characters from the book you can guess who they’re gonna be
Halloween fans watching Halloween Ends: they really just gonna ignore the main characters for some lackluster just-introduced ones in the trilogy ender??

I didn't mind it up until the ending. It was confusing I'm not even sure what happened? but I just know it was an unsatisfying ending.
The lawyer scene has to be one of the worst scenes I've ever seen.
And how he robbed the phone without explanation.
And how the camera girl had a gun. And how Dracula knew how to use it. And how the trigger lock was unlocked?
Damn this chapter.
Interesting, new perspective I love it!
Well I'm liking that they acknowledge their own stupidity, like accidentally feeding Dracula by putting your finger into his "dormant mouth" :joy: Or how Dracula has a toilet and is rather perturbed by the fact haha. And uhm, "who gave him the wifi password" hahaha.
"Democracy is the tyranny of the uninformed."
And then the scientist goes and downs all of his blood, instead of say, just a little, if that was her intention, and maybe save the rest for actual science? Just a suggestion.
Also anyone reading this, in the scene to the end at Dracula's house... is that a ... a sculpture of a slab of meat in his room???
Now we are in England. To our time. Could have been interesting. Unfortunately, the episode was a bunch of crap.
The first two episodes are very good, but don't waste your time watching them because the last episode is.........shit !
Well, Dracula did promise a slow death to the nuns...and that is exactly what this episode is — slow death.
The first two episodes were great but this last episode was utter b*ll*cks.
Nothing more say.
This whole episode was an interesting twist, but maybe not so brilliantly executed.
But seeing Mark Gatiss gave it just a hint of League of Gentleman (back when that was fantastic).
Silly ending the first 2 was not bad but i hate this one XD

A disappointing way to end a series that had a great start. Oh well...
