Good acting, great atmosphere, but the writing was really weak this season.
I didn't mind the creative choices of how key historical events unfolded, but they had trouble portraying the events in a believable way. Even with Livia being the ultimate puppet master seemed truly befuddled at times. Just feel like they phoned this season in.
This is only the only game in town for a Roman drama that I know of, and still hope for another season, but the writers need to put their back into it if they want to make this worthwhile.
