Quite a comedown after the brilliant Stolen Earth and the weakest of the post Unicorn and the Wasp era episodes, but there are some great ideas in this and it aims big and succeeds in resolving the massive cliffhanger the only way RTD knows how: deus ex machina. The departure for Donna never fails to be emotional even when Rose's send-off is a bit too melodramatic, but as a way to close off one of the best eras of the show, Journeys End does so in style. The Russos blatantly nabbed the whole Infinity War "50% of the population" thing from this.
Murray Gold is at his peak here - Song of Freedom is top-tier. Love the Sarah Jane/Davros reunion too, it's well overdue.
One of the best finales ever. All the crossovers as well!!
It's perfect I loved it! Excellent
Easily the hardest I've ever cried over a Doctor Who ep. Its first 50 minutes is just pure brilliant fun. Lowkey RTD playing with is action figures. Indulgent but pure electric fun nonetheless. That joy of everyone in the TARDIS flying the earth home especially was just so pure.
And then it hits you over the head with the most fucking tragic thing you could possibly imagine. Just pure fucking tragedy, and nobody even died. What got me in the end was Catherine Tate. She has just the most expressive emotive eyes and has used them to good effect throughout this season. So seeing her know what the Doctor is doin and the combination of absolute terror and sorrow. Utterly heartbreaking. And that final bit of tragedy is sold by Tennant in the end. Seeing the TARDIS completely empty after all that was legitimately painful.
Fucking hell.
10/10
All Gold
Well that was Epic
And with song of freedom
Backing it up Just made it
Even more Amazing,
What a perfect song choice.
This was one if not the best
Crossovers in television history
So many moving parts
All coming together for one
Final push against
The Doctors ultimate enemy.
Russell T Davies
Was on fire with this 3/3
Episode as he brings
Part 1 of his era to a close
(For now).
What he created with this
Was on another level
Especially for the time and
Budget. This was something
Very very special that could
Never happen again as
Some are only with us now in
Our Hearts and minds.
What an honour
to have had the privilege
To have experienced it,
One to which I am very
Thankful of.
Russell T Davies
Has recently gone on record
2023 in saying his only
Regret was the ending
With Rose and consolation Doctor n locking her away again but he wanted to make
Sure that no other Showrunner could touch her but now he's back I hope and pray that he might, might take care of his
One Regret that's niggle him
For years and years.
(Now that would be off
The charts Awesomness
On top of Awesome.)
Verdict: as the sunsets on
This stage of the show
And things are soon going
To change forever, this
Trilogy was a near perfect
Send off for everyone involved
And I am so ready for the
Next Phase in one of the
Greatest British shows
Ever created.
DOCTOR WHO WILL RETURN
I can't believe the Daleks used the German polite "Sie" when talking about exterminating people
I wasn't a Doctor Who fan. I think I watched one very old episode and thought WTH is this...is that a huge ass eye floating in the sky... amateur hour... no thanks.
But then I started watching newer seasons... with the old Doctor and Clara. I think it was Clara I really liked... then I started to look at the older seasons...so I went in a descending manner rather than ascending.
Anyway, all of that just to say THIS IS THE BEST EPISODE EVERRRRRR! LOL
I loved seeing all the crossover and the return of the previous companions. So so good. I loved it!
Probably the greatest crossover event in television history.
To end this season's exhilarating finale like that is just hugely depressing

Now Donna is actually gone, I feel bad. She was good. People hated her not because she is bad, it’s because she replaced popular characters like Martha and Ross.
The anger is misdirected, it should have been towards the producers who replaced Martha. Best of luck Donna.
