This might be the best thing Moffat has ever written, and one of the best episodes of the show. And that's even more impressive when you consider, that the main cast plays only a small part, the main character is a one off, and the scariest monsters are statues that you never see move.
Their pick of Carrey Mulligan for Sally Sparrow was perfect too, considering she was pretty unknown back then. I honestly cannot imagine anyone else in the role. I found myself wishing she would've been the companion for the season.
I also wish more of Moffats skill here would have translated to his time as a show runner, but I guess this is not as relevant here.
Don't turn your back, don't look away, and don't blink. Good luck!
Easily the most clever, and perhaps the best episode of the show up until this point. Fantastic stuff.
One of my favourite episodes of all time!!!
Blink is the first absolutely outstanding episode of series 3 and I'm so happy to say it lives up to and possibly supersedes my memory of it. The Weeping Angels is just an inspired concept. The're deeply chilling from how they look to how they kill you and the mechanism for how they work is brilliant in its simplicity.
Moffat here plays with time travel so creatively. Thart concept of travelling through "slow time" introduced in Girl in the Fireplace is brought back here to a brilliant effect. The tragedy of living out your days alive but separate from everyone you know and love is done so well here. I especially love that Sally feels the echoes of her loss well after her encounters with the ages as shown in the end. Not to mention the brilliant back and forth between Sally and the Doctor through the DVDs and the wall paper. Just so good.
Honestly so much credit needs to go to Carey Mulligan as Sally Sparrow. She truly carries this episode as the lead. Doctor light episodes can be jarring but her absolute charisma in the role never left me wanting for a time lord as the lead.
There are very few episodes of Doctor Who I consider absolutely perfect in every single component. And Blink is very much so one of the select few.
Say what you will about Moffat (and I've said plenty on this very website), but he knows how to write. There are quite a lot of episodes in this season (hell, all seasons so far) which feel almost boring at times, the same old "go to a new place -> oh no! something is wrong with the place -> what is wrong? oh, it's just another alien race that wants to DeStrOY thE wOrLD!! -> [insert companion name] is in danger -> to the rescue comes the doctor! -> brief moment of reflection -> back to being chipper -> the end". And yet, here we are, an episode with a villain that is actually interesting, an unpredictable plot, and someone finally remembered that time travel allows for much more than people in period clothes. The sad part? This is the best episode this season so far and yet the one with the least screen time for the Doctor.
Ну и как теперь жить не моргая!!!?? О_О
So bloody genius. This is perfect doctor who.
Overrated simple time loop, already seen
I absolutely enjoyed Sally Sparrow's character, aptly portrayed by "gorgeous girl" Carey Mulligan! What a terrible shame she turned down the offer to continue as the Doctor's companion. I wanted to see more of them both.
Also, this episode along with the past few ones have been giving me considerable amounts of depression and existential crisis but I'm so loving it?! One of the best and one of my all-time favorite episodes so far, it perfectly exemplifies why I love this series so much and why it's one of my comfort watches!
Best episode of New Who so far!

Doctor Who doesn't get any better than this episode. Forget the Daleks and anything else that you might consider 'scary', this is the real stuff. And such a clever writing. Incredible. Episodes as this, are what defines Doctor Who's cult status.
