That was one of the weirdest starts to a series I've seen. But it's so well done. I'm very intrigued. Amazing first episode.
Pretty fun. I like all the plot threads.
I hope it will start making a bit more sense in the next episode(s).
What the hell is going on?! This is awesome!
WHAT?
So this is what it feels like to be confronted by the Doctor. It's so creepy and annoying how he keeps trying to force Todd onto the case. I've gotta say, a lot is going on in this episode. First, there's Dirk, Todd, his sister, this girl locked upstairs, the "holistic assassin" (poor Ken), the Rowdy 3, the detectives, military and so many more. Jesus Christ.
It was so weird and spontaneous. It wasn't distasteful at any parts, and it never dragged. Instead, it kept on introducing something every few minutes.
I'm intrigued, but I'm uncertain my curiosity will be paid off in future episodes. For now, it was fun, not particularly emotional but never boring.
TECHNICAL SCORE: 6.5/10
ENJOYMENT SCORE: 7/10
Started strange with disconnected elements so it seemed like it might have been just a silly nonsense show but as it progressed it started to come together and importantly it was the function of things coming together that created the most interest rather than just a bunch of things that were revealed.
I'm interested to see where this goes.
Looks promising. First episode can be downloaded for free in iTunes.
madness! first episode looks promising...
Entertaining. The characters are quirky and fun. The cast is wonderful. Samuel Barnett is so over the top that he is quite entertaining.
Some parts are so incredibly stupid. For example, the police watch a gang of thugs pull up with baseball bats and crowbars and start destroying the front of a building, yet the cops do nothing. A guy pulls a handgun and they call for backup and still stay in the car? WTF?
We also have someone make a complete ruckus that can be heard between floors and noone calls the cops and when the cops are on the floor below looking at the ceiling with a bullet hole in it, they don't investigate or inquire about the noise or the bullet that made the hole. Again, WTF?
Also, the story is told in a particularly unintelligible way to make the story seem more complex than it actually is. The situations are ridiculous, but not as much as the frantic pace leaves you thinking. If they had slowed the pace slightly and added a bit more substance, this show would have been so much better.
Fiona Dourif's character is
Natasha Lyonne + Tatiana Maslany's Helena in Orphan Black = Bart Curlish

What the feck, it's not filmed in England, Dirk Gently is so British is it not?
