I cannot overstate how much I love this show.
Well... I'm glad I still got 15 seasons to watch. This season has it's good moments, but my overall conclusion is: entertaining yet unsatisfactory.
Great season of criminal minds….
So, Dave (almost) saves himself with a bit of MacGyver-esque tech-savviness.Still not sure what Will was doing in Seattle - I suppose the actor only chose to return to this role because it was expanded, no matter if it really makes sense story-wise. And no, it didn't. The same goes for Garcia... sorry, I can't stand her, her unprofessionalism, her quirks which are supposed to be lovable but really only annoy me and make her immature in my opinion. Whining about 2 people on the brink of death, having a panic attack or whatever that was supposed to be when she literally could use those wasted minutes on finding Rossi? And that ending with Tyler's, I guess, supposed to be bittersweet... I don't care. Please, please, get Reid back for the next season, drop Garcia or at least relegate her to a very distant backseat.
Of course, the season ends with a cliff-hanger. I'm not sure why they feel the need to add in-office intrigues and/or politics into the mix as it doesn't really lead to better story-telling, only a more convoluted one. So, what's this gold star? And why exactly did no one shoot Elias when he was out in the open - but no, let that useless assistant FBI-director go in unarmed, wireless... and then act surprised that he doesn't come out alive. And Tara's girlfriend? Grow some spine. I'd say good riddance, Tara.
I guess I'll tune in next season, but really, less lovey-dovey, less Garcia and JJ, and Reid returning would go a long way to make me happier.
This season was incredible and the finale did it justice. Some will argue it went by too quickly but the pacing is right on track with the show. I loved getting to know the unsub throughout the season and I'm actually thrilled we might not have seen the last of Elias/Lee.
They set up something nice for the next season. The finale left plenty of questions. I hope we won't have to wait too long.
cliffhangers are my least favorite storytelling tool which probably makes me a bad writer but GOD they're annoying
It’s entertaining in the first couples episodes, but the last two are weak. They got him so easily. Couldn’t find your killer, just knock any random door. The screenwriters try to justify it as old fashioned, but I call it lazy writing
Enjoyed the new season. Thought we were only going to get one more after all this time, but that ending certainly hints at a potential extra season.
This entire season kinda felt like one you make for the viewers to make them be ok with a show being cancelled. Completely untypical for Criminal Minds this season ends with a cliffhanger tho, so that's weird..
