The episode list is completely messed up here, how do I report it?
i think it's time we blow this scene, get everybody and there stuff together ok 3.2.1 LET'S JAM
SEE YOU SPACE COWBOY
I used to skip cleaning the classroom just to catch this on TV back in high school. And it still holds up! Actually, now that I understand it better, it's all the more awesome. The music is a stand-out, the story progression and interesting characters all serve to make this truly a masterpiece.
This show was not my cup of tea; I found it to have too many filler episodes while I did find the main story interesting the rest could have done without and have a 13 episodes series instead of 26 episodes.
Watched it in 2022 after spending the last 24 years hearing about the show's hype. I enjoyed the standalone episodes, they tended to have good music, themes, scenery and interesting (albeit predictable) storylines; pace was usually hit and miss but forgivable, dialogue was mostly awful but since action was good you could forget it. If the series was all about these standalone episodes, it would be okay and fun.
But then the series try to be serious at times, and it simply stumbles. There's not enough dialogue depth, the script is shallow, things are rushed, convenient, unexplained and left unresolved. Little to no character development. Supposedly important characters appear out of nowhere, disappear for 14 episodes then are back out of blue and you're supposed to care for them. Baddies die easy, heroes are invincible. When I reached the end of the series, I was glad it was over. Probably went from a 7 or 8 to a 4 or 5 rating by trying to be too much while failing to be anything remarkable. This review is not against anime as a genre - there are great things in the medium, but I don't think Cowboy Bebop is one of them.
Great Anime for 1998.
But too many unnecassary Episodes between. I wished there were a bigger focus on Vicious. In the end in just two Episodes everything was too rushed. The kid with the red hair „Ed“ : totally annoying...
Mostly boring but for 1998 a great Anime 6/10
The first 10 episodes were really perfect for me, but everything started to feel so boring until the last 2 episodes, when I watched the last 2 episodes, I felt that it was a waste of time. You don't understand anything about character developments, everything is based on fait accompli. Some people refer to the anime as "actually everything is a dream, those people are already dead, what happened is Spike's dream." they said so. Yes, it may be a good anime for its time, but we live in 2021, such stories are now banal and absurd.
Absolute masterpiece. I remember the first time I watched it and needing to take a quiet half hour after the jaw dropping finale.
If anime has never grabbed you, this is the one to check out to maybe change your mind. Regardless of the medium it's just a fantastic story with big ideas, engaging characters and good balance of humor.
...and what's not to love about a tricked out welsh corgi in space :)
Totally space cowboy.
[there is a live action adaptation in the works with Keanu Reeves chasing the lead role. Sadly for the moment its stuck in development hell]
I loved this show, one of my favorites, the characters feels so real, the music is incredible, the story is nice, the only reason I gave a 9 and not a 10 it's because I felt that there could have been more precisions around the main lines.. Despite this, I definitely recommend Cowboy Bebop !
1.) Too many filler episodes but definitely catchy show!
2.) Ed was annoying AF!
3.) Music as everyone says is awesome!
First of all I watch an anime for first time. I watched the netflix series of the anime and despite Netflix, I liked the series. Netflix series characters type and main idea story same with anime. Netflix's change on story more good than original anime. I think in anime some points are blank and meaningless like betamax tape story, in anime it cames randomly but in netflix it directly connect with character and it has meaning. Anyway I liked anime but I think its need more main story in all episodes.
A great show from a timebubble with less rules. Beautifully made short stories with great characters. Still worth a watch if anyone is wondering.
Yeah, I had a great night last night in Prague, jumped off the train, met this incredible girl and had one of the best conversations of my life over an amazing bottle of wine and the best steak I've ever eaten, there was this beautiful music and even the air seemed to be charged with an electricity that made everything seem so alive and urgent, I'll never forget it but I doubt that girl will pop up again in the future so I have to say it was filler, 6/10.
Dear people complaining about filler episodes of Cowboy Bebop, why are you the way that you are?
"YOU'RE GONNA CARRY THAT WEIGHT"
This show is amazing in every way.
A stylish mix of western, noir, scifi, thriller, action and adventure in a fun journey against the Painful Past, where Love, Friendship or Life are just a big long Dream. One of the best Anime of all time, a perfect balance of Drama and Comedy.
After watching this, I can say this anime is beautiful. Script, environment and especially music, it made the anime far more enjoyable and emotional.
My favorite series of all time of all genres, the wealth of depth to the characters, their stories, and the stories of the universe that surrounds them brings you on an unparalleled level of quality and talent in bringing you this intergalactic journey of two bounty hunters while their pasts and future intersect at an operatic crucible.
Even the soundtrack fine tuned to each episode and the entire scope of the story, outshines what a soundtrack can do for a series. One of the few series where a soundtrack tells part of the story.
The level of ingenuity, talent, and pure genius that goes into what brings us the story of the crew of the Bebop, is truly once in a lifetime.
I missed this show on it's first run here in Germany (on MTV, if you can believe it). My sister and cousin really liked it back in the day, so I gave it a chance. While I dig the whole bounty hunter in space thematic, how they actually resolve every conflict is extremely simple and uninspired. I tried both SUB and DUB, but neither version did anything fror me.
It's like true love at first sight, you either feel it or don't. This is a "must see" and I see why, is very well crafted, the animation is amazing considering it's from 1998 and the story is very cryptic and alluring. It's very unique and special, but, because of that, it's not going to be everyone's cup of tea. This story is very episodic, with a few glimpses here and there of the overarching story and the past of the main characters, some episodes have a very good story but others not so much. The last four episodes explains everything and ties everything, but the finale is open ended, and, in my personal opinion, kinda rushed. I see why people like and I can appreciate it as a work of art, but I personally didn't like it much, I just saw it because it was pushed to me as a "must see" (and I don't regret seen it) but I was expecting a twist or turning point like Steins;Gates did in episode 12, when it truly kicked in. I recommend it? As I said in the title, you either feel it or don't, and like love, it's not anyone's fault.
a comedic and bittersweet anime. It tought me life of those who didn't dare to face their past, it would soon catch up to them somehow.
A beautiful masterpiece that will probably never be replicated as well or have anything come close to it
This piece works by making what seems like a ragtag team and a bunch of random events and episodes fall in place like puzzle pieces. Its just a well executed story and character development with some decent action sequences. And of course, the OP is just a classic now.
one of the best animes ever made.
As weird as it sounds I gotta thank Netflix for their LA remake. Otherwise I might never have given in and watched this show. Even though I was too young to have watched back when it originally aired I had been aware of the show for quite a while. I just never made time to watch it. But thanks to Netflix I finally thought I'll give it a shot.
And boy am I glad I did. Absolute masterpiece in every way. Story. Animation. Characters. Message. Music. Goddamn the music.
I just rewatched it for the quadrillionth time and it never looses its taste. The best anime ever made, so much attention to detail and great music. I will still watch this in 50 years and it will still be epic.
It's a Must Watch
Piece of Art  can't even imagine this masterpiece was created in 1998! Photography and soundtracks are just Wow
One of the best Animes ever!
(from my old collection of anime reviews circa 2003)
Scifi noir / space Western. Amazing scifi series about a group of bounty hunters with troubled pasts, roaming the solar system, perpetually broke. Very stylish design; nice action. Excellent, excellent music (how many series have 4 albums worth of music?). The episodes are crafted, well written; each one has a different feel, drawing from a wide range of genres. You will find that you are watching and that you really like it, but you're not quite sure why; several well done elements contribute to its success. The characters are so well portrayed, so lifelike and unlike most other anime characters, that playing them off even simple situations is a joy in itself.
The series of my life. I don't add anything else.
In my opinion, Cowboy Bebop is one of the best anime series ever created and not one should live their life without watching it
Absolutely everything in here is perfect, the sound, the music, the animation.... Everything just works flawlessly
bang!
See you Space Cowboy
My favourite Anime...

for me, it was the best anime series ever created, not only the script, music or an ordinary hero is very real in its concept and undoubtedly messages between lines are best.
