What a pisspoor Hollywoodian excuse to break up the relationship. Typical Hollywood dumbass writers.
This was a very stupid reason to break up but I don't know that I expected more from this show, honestly. Being mad that your boss slept with your ex does not mean that you still have feelings for said ex, it means your boss crossed a line between personal and professional and you are understandably upset about it. And the whole "you're the one who isn't stopping me" is just so annoying.
That... sucked. Everything felt inorganic, none of the jokes were funny, a major relationship was ended based on.... nothing. The murder was inconsequential and doesn't effect any character that matters.

Those were the first bad episodes of the show.
That whole English thing, the jokes and stuff - that has been done by so many shows, it isn't the least bit funny. Plus, the whole storyline feels like pulled out of a hat, it all stands on very weak ground. Than there is the B-story with Angelas ex which results in her getting the divorce but ultimately breaking up with Hodgins because of Cam getting involved by sleeping with Grayson. Makes sense ? Yes ? No ? There you have it. While I actually think the break up is a good story telling tool for the bigger picture, the way this all comes down is done bad. The whole situation is, like everything else in this two-parter, extremly forced and constructed to fit a certain goal the writer wanted to accomplish.
