[7.1/10] A bit of a step down from other recent episodes, but still enjoyable enough. Maybe I just hold Tina episodes to a higher standard. I appreciated her fantasy sequence and idealistic Tina desire to have a “nature epiphany” and shed her “fluffy butt” moniquer. But the whole deal with “Hermit the Fraud” (good line Gene) didn’t do much for me, and the group managing to climb the mountain using teamwork was a little forced. That said, the parodying of “outdoor ed” stuff was spot on, and the kids had some very funny lines throughout.
The B-story was pretty fun, if once again pretty slight. Bob and Linda trying to party hard for two night without the kids and falling asleep on the couch was amusing (especially with Teddy’s insistence that they do better). And the follow-up, where they put on tanner and go too wild was funny too, though again, a little undercooked. Still, it’s a comic relief B-story, so no biggie.
Overall, a decent episode that’s not up to Bob’s Burgers’s usual sterling standard.
