So this was a really enjoyable season! For having returners (and siblings), everyone was seemingly on an even playing field. In most returner seasons, there is some unfair perk or format that favors the returners. With that being said, three of the four returners were not people I enjoyed in their first go around and the fourth was one I loved. I walked away from this season with inverted opinions of all four, so it was pleasant to see some diversity. As I have mentioned in most of my Big Brother and Survivor reviews, I enjoy GAMEPLAY first and foremost over the characters and antics within the house. While characters and personalities were a bit extreme and nearly everyone has an annoying quirk that won't mesh with all viewers, the GAMEPLAY was great and unpredictable. It was nice having every challenge be a struggle for power. It was nice having Paul be a target from day 1 and work his ass off to get to the final two. It was nice to see power duos shift power. It was nice that there was NOT a single floater. Every person was in the Diary Room spilling their guts and strategy. The one big issue? The winner should not have won the game and that ALWAYS leaves a sour taste. Paul was the clear winner this season, and the only reason the final vote went the way it did was to award a woman a champion by another woman. Nicole played a superb game in her third go around in Season 22, but in this season and her first attempt, they were both lackluster in my opinion. Regardless, it is a solid season with plenty of enjoyable characters. Definitely one worth checking out.
