I was promised a Black Siren episode, but not really, Felicity-centered. Classic Guggenheim prank. Despite not being the best episode, it wasn't that bad either.
Leave away the S4 drama and bullshit and Olicity is a great couple. I liked the little role reversal. It felt weird to see Ollie behind the computer. However, I'm getting tired of people randomly praising Felicity telling her that all she can't do wrong. She apologized and even said that she was wrong so, hey, that's something. When it seems she's close to a character development, someone always comes to say she's always right.
The episode was weird, awkward, full of typey-typey and tech-babble. "Less how, more what" should be their motto. Who writes the tech talk? It seems as if they just spin the wheel of tech-sounding words and put them all together in a sentence. Then add a character saying "English!" and done. Once is more than enough, then it gets old.
Are you seriously telling me that the whole Internet is in a building which so happens to be in Star City exactly where three key holders live? And the entire Internet has just one guard?
Bright side, Cayden James is awesome. I was so hyped to see Michael Emerson. He looked so menacing. Take down the Internet. Evil. Using Felicity to do his dirty work was great.
Black Siren luring people to their deaths exactly like sirens do. Katie Cassidy is great in this role. She referred to herself as Dinah! I loved that for some reason. Why does nobody recognize Laurel? I mean, she just changed her hair. But they're the same who don't see the GA suddenly change skin color.
The cinematography is outstanding. The fighting scenes are amazing. Black Siren shattering John's arrow was great!
"I'm glad we saved the Internet. My fantasy football team was killing it this year", lol. Rene always delivering the best one liners.
That ending scene got me SO excited! Slade takes priority over Felicity, lol. Two episodes with just Oliver and Slade is what I need!
Definitely the worst episode of the show since the beginning of season 5, what an absolute bullshit plot
Although I liked the episode otherwise, that whole Internet Vault thing was absolute crap. The beginning of the team's discovery and explanation of the Evil Plan sounded sort of okay at first, sounding like it was heading toward some sort of widespread DNS hack (which could indeed have paralyzed much of how the Internet is used), but then... only three? in one single (and conveniently local) "vault"? for the entire Internet? C'mon writers, we all know that you're capable of much better than that.
Fun episode, otherwise, but given that it all depends on that crappy core...
Okay, well, we did get to see Oliver nicely running the Overwatch station; that was pretty cool. He certainly has the tactical abilities to run that sort of coordination, and throw in that quick "well, you've automated so much of the tech that anyone could do it" explanation and we're good, right? Well, a lot better than that those "Internet Vault" crap.
Flash and Arrow cannot be simultaneously good. Flash was really good and Arrow is slipping into Felicity and Friends bullshit again. "English, please!" really gets old after 10th time...
I love how every Arrow character is like, basically, a really hardcore Olicity shipper. I'm with you guys! So excited to see my favorite fictional TV couple back together and totes in love once again! I'd missed my babies being all cutesy and lovey-dovey.
Also, tech genius villains are a lot more interesting than thug villains, aren't they?
Everyone is complaining about Olicity but what about the nonsense of John being the Green Arrow when:
He has a daughter, the main reason why Oliver just stopped being the GA
He has an injury which, instead of saying he cannot do it because of it, he prefers to lie and take drugs.
Wtf
Do people who hack for a good cause actually refer to themselves as "hacktivists?" Sounds like a word you would only read about in textbooks or Newsweek.
This series both makes much more sense and becomes much less irritating when you accept that in this universe, technology and science are basically on the same level as magic and mysticism - they don't follow the rules of the world as we know it. Annoyed by all of that techno-babble and hacker lingo that makes absolutely zero sense? Well, just remember that this is a world where a particle reactor exploded and created superheroes and -villains, where a guy created a suit to shrink himself, and where people build vastly futuristic technology in their spare time - in short, a comic book world.
Michael Emerson is the antagonist for this season? Holy shit!
I see we're back on the Olicity shitfest. Stop trying to make it work, please. It's never not going to be cringe worthy.
It's good to see Harold Finch back!! Ops... Wrong show?
The only thing worse than wasting time on Felicity is wasting time on Felicity and Oliver as a couple again. Which made about 80% of this one worthless to me, giving my fast-forward finger a workout. This one and SUPERGIRL are constantly vying to be my least-favorite of the CW/DC shows and these latest Smoak-y developments have given ARROW a clear advantage. Michael Emerson is not enough to salvage things and it may be time to quit this one.
What the fuck was that?
