This lunch was the first time I felt like listening to the old gang from SATC (Samantha being replaced well). Carrie was livid, they were openly talking, Miranda was old Miranda, and Charlotte (Botox aside) was enthusiastic old Charlotte. It was about relatable relationship issues.

Perhaps one of the better episodes until this point. It's not good though: this show is all over the place. What the heck is this show about?

He's dead. She says she lives in the present. And it's still the same old story: Big or Aiden? Aiden or Big? Really? They again want to discuss this issue? Okay. Fine. Carrie is checking out her boyfriends from the past. As long we don't see the return of this weird Russian guy, I'm fine with that.

PS: I enjoyed Charlottes dress story. It's silly, purely fictional, totally not relatable, 100% inconsequential. The dress looks fine though, Anastasia looked gorgeous (whatever style she was rocking), and this very little story was fun. But if you think about, it's the repetition of an unhealthy pattern from SATC: Other women are a woman's worst enemy.. By (tacitly) fat shaming your lady boss, you build self-confidence.

Finally there is a concrete story with the necessary characters, and in correct situations. I don't know where the story of Carrie and Aidan will go but it's more interesting than the last few episodes, sadly we had to wait for a first season and seven more episodes to find a balance between the original series and the reboot. Also Anthony's story is so contemporary, I'm in.

There's just something about seeing Sara Ramirez in scrubs again

Suspend all belief.

So Carrie who can't boil an egg wants us to believe she's going to be Caroline Ingalls in season 3.... and Giuseppe has a crush on Anthony so irrepressible that....

and the irritating Big Vs Aiden nixing the dream wedding movie.

pwahhhh

I hope the show is cancelled before I have to review one more episode.

see you next week

Something magical about seeing Carrie and Aiden all loved up again. And I glad the Big question was addressed (see what I did there?) I think it's natural you would ask yourself things like that. I also think Big wasn't a mistake though. All part of life's journey imo. Even if this time ends badly too it's worth it for the good parts.

Also is it just me or was Che a lot more bearable in this episode?
And I'm so happy to see Charlotte getting back to work and stretching her legs a bit. The worries felt authentic and glad she embraced herself towards the end.

You've got a solid storyline finally with Carrie and Aiden going, and yet a whole third if not more of the screentime here is given to Charlotte worrying she's 5 lbs. overweight. Also, watching Carrie try to reassure Seema felt a little sickening, she was clearly just being a hater, which isn't unrealistic. There's always that one friend that just wants you to be as miserable as they are.

Lame, Bland and Saccharine reach new stratospheric heights in this episode.

Definitely one of the best episode of this revival.
