While the villain came out nowhere, and the maid wasn't shown enough/not enough clues given, this was still a really good episode. Well directed and written. I became interested in the mystery and figuring out what was going on. But after the two suspects were gone, i could not think of an alternative. And then Poirot, the genius that he is, "What if she didn't go for a newspaper" and then he unraveled it from them. The themes are shown well in this episode. Grief, greed, murder. You get a nice cameo from Japp and a couple nice scenes with Miss Lemon. Just a good episode in general.
