@1treehillbilly I agree with you 100 %, this is the best movie when you're bored or if you want to see great cinema with an amazing
Robin Williams, but the opinion of the people, there will always be strange and has nothing to do with reality or the appropriate assessment of the movie or show.
There will always be someone who either have not seen or considers that if a man dressed as a woman, this film is sick (and as such opinions heard) no one is interested in the fact that it is a comedy.
People - always strange.
This was supposed to be a short comment ;D .
I almost forgot how much I absolutely adored this film, one of Robin Williams' finest, (in my opinion). This is a really nice heartwarming, family comedy for all to enjoy. I would recommend this to anyone.
"Mrs. Doubtfire" is an extremely funny and heartfelt film. It has tons of laughs as well as tears, this is definitly Robin Williams' best film. Watching williams do voices as well as play Mrs. Doubtfire is a real treat. Also the supporting cast of actors do an excellent job, I highly reccomend it.
After losing custody of his kids for, basically, being a big kid, Robin Williams goes undercover as a British nanny so he can remain a part of their lives. While he’s initially unprepared for the rigors of housekeeping, and the little ones almost immediately see through the disguise, he soon finds his rhythm and grows to become an indispensable resource for the family, not to mention a close confidant for his ex-wife. Although he often abuses that position (especially when the wife shows interest in a former flame), in general he’s a more active, responsible parent under the wig and cardigan than he ever was as a traditional father.
This is another weak, by-the-numbers Chris Columbus picture, elevated by a manic, largely-improvised performance from Williams. Credit the director for the liberty he grants in that respect, allowing his star to completely take over and alter the tone of several scenes, but man alive, the nuts and bolts of the film are completely inept and flavorless. That’s something I’ve noticed in most of Columbus’s efforts behind the camera: they just aren’t very well-made, with the best entries (Home Alone, for instance) succeeding in spite of his pervasive, amateurish tendencies. They all feel like big-budget Hallmark movies; broad, hammy and superficial. This is no exception. It’s just a quick-lipped Robin Williams dress-up show, nothing more.
I don't remember watching this as a kid, so I watched it while this rona thing is happening. And wow, I wish I had a mom like Mrs. Doubtfire. haha! Robin Williams is just amazing and talented. I was a bit surprised about the ending cause i was expecting something, but then I realized, that's the reality of life..it is a good film. Now I want to binge-watch more Robin Williams' movies!

Despite getting a mixed reception from critics at the time, Mrs. Doubtfire has become a staple in ’90s family entertainment and has captured the hearts of so many people young and old. I still love this movie even if reality can get the best of it sometimes. Chris Columbus talks to audiences about divorce in entertaining but heartfelt ways that show that just because divorce is a reality, it doesn’t mean you can’t find a way to live with it in a balanced manner. This is my favorite movie from Chris Columbus as it makes excellent use of comedy, character development, stunning cinematography, and utilizing Robin Williams tablets to the max. If you haven’t watched this movie yet, I recommend that you watch it. It's a great movie to laugh along with but also to feel emotionally connected with as well.
(Final Grade: A)
A funny film with a beautiful message at the end! It was worth watching it again after many years!
30 years ago today this movie was released.
