Good movie that makes you want to have kids yourself.
Excellent story. Great animation. Perfect fitting of actors to the characters. The children are as adorable as the minions. Very good for both adults and children. Cannot wait to see DM2.
An evil genius, with an army of yellow minions.. What more do you want!
The Bank of Evil - formerly known as Lehman Brothers
This is what I call a really good joke!
Vroooooooooooom eeeeeeerrrttttt pew pew pew aaaaarrrrrrggggghhhhhhh ppphhhffrrrrttt
Despicable Me is LOL funny throughout, warm, goofy, and will not disappoint.
Incredible movie!!! A must watch with your family
I bookmarked it for watching again sometime.
Loved it. Great for 80s and 90s kids
one of my favorites :)
Enjoyed this film but wondering where Ken Jeong was? Listed as a "talk show host" but didn't see that character at all in the film.
Remember when the Minions were funny and not overused?
Also, this movie wouldn't be nearly as good if they didn't give as much focus to the core relationship between Gru and the girls. That stuff is so heartwarming. It still really holds up. Shame how the series devolved.
Animated films are at the point where they are more regularly entertaining than their live-action counterparts. "Despicable Me" is another animated winner and it goes way beyond my expectations. I love the looks of the characters. Every one of them is different from the others. Gru Dr. Nefario Miss Hattie Vector Mr. Perkins they all have their own unique size and shape. Eyes body shape legs. That individuality is countered then by the Minions who other than their height hairstyle and number of eyes look pretty much the same. The antics of the minions steals the show. They are the worker bees of the evil villain Gru and his genius scientist partner Dr. Nefario. Somehow even though there are thousand of minions Gru can remember them all by name which by the way are pretty standard names (Bill Jerry Dave etc.) Its a nice little touch that made me laugh numerous times. There is a lot of action here and it is intensified by some fantastic 3-D effects. There are many times you can tell that the film makers are attempting to wow you. Normally that kind of showing off isn't productive but that's not the case here. The 3-D is probably the best that I've seen in an animated film (stay for the credits as they show off the 3-D a little more). The only thing that knocked this movie down just a notch for me is the heart strings get tugged a little unnecessarily but that seems to be the trend in animation right now. I got a lot of Looney Tunes insanity from "Despicable Me" I didn't need any Pixar-flavored tear jerking thrown in. Again though nearly everything here works very well. In fact I'd put this just below "The Incredibles" and "The Iron Giant" on my favorite animated movie list.
Good animation. Can have a lot of fun, not only for kids :)
I didn't like this flick very much. The story seems funny at first but is somehow lacking and the overall outcome is very predictable. Even the yellow guys (the minions?!) that everybody seems to find hilarious couldn't sweeten the deal for me!
it was a nice animated movie to watch
This is one movie I could keep watching over and over again. 4 times and I still want to.
I love it so much. I can't believe this was made only 5 years after I was born. I'm so lucky my childhood was blessed by Gru, the gworls and minions. Whoever casted the voice actors needs an award of some sort and the animation style is so premium even though it's casual. I will say this is probably my least favourite one from the franchise because it's slightly boring. Don't get me wrong, there was always something new happening, but story wise, it's probably the slowest. minion.
It was better than what I remembered. A solid 7/10.
I loved this movie as a child, and it still holds up. Very funny, a heartfelt story, memorable AF characters (especially Vector lmao) and so cartoonish in just the right way. The pacing was extremely good, finally we get a 90 min story told in 90 min instead of 60 min story being told in 120. I was thoroughly entertained through the course of the movie and the ending also touched me a bit emotionally. Awesome movie.
8.5/10
Literally the peak of Illumination.
Steve Carell leads the cast in the animated children's film Despicable Me. A supervillain who aspires to steal the Moon adopts three orphaned girls as part of his fiendish plot; but he unexpectedly becomes attached to the girls, causing him to question his priorities. Carell gives a strong performance, and is back by a solid supporting cast that includes Russell Brand, Kristen Wiig, Will Arnett and Jason Segel. However, the writing is rather weak and does a poor job at developing the characters. Also, the comedy is fairly obvious (going for broad tropey humor) and tries to get by mostly on physical humor. Despicable Me is generic in a lot of ways, but it’s entertaining and delivers some good laughs.
At to this movie you cant get him low then 10,its perfect, verry funny, and sometimes was very sad cause Gru mother he didnt apreciate Gru work.
Good animation movie that all can enjoy. Eagerly waiting for next one in the series.
so emotional at 2nd bedtime story.enjoyable

Lovely animation, but I expected more.

I bookmarked it for watching again sometime.

It's like a good Pixar Movie. But it is not from Pixar. I really enjoyed this movie.

great movie i recommend it to anyone animation movie fan & even those not really into animation movies might enjoy.
This is one of our regular movies ;) My little one likes the minions :)
Watched this movie with my Korean class and was surprised by how great it was. We really enjoyed it.
A guy gets stuck with a kid/kids he doesn't want. He does everything he can to drive them away and succeeds in the end only to realize they have grown on him and he misses them. He commits an selfless act and the kids run back into his arms.
This story fits at least a dozen other movies like Despicable Me with only a few minor differences. The movie itself might be good, but the story is completely unoriginal.

Amusing and cute even if you are an adult.
