I like kids movies as an adult, but this one was too kiddy
I'm absolutely obsessed with the idea of this woman's life rival being a chicken who ruined her life.
Most movies should NEVER have a sequel. This is one of them.
JUST. STOP.
2/10
:grimacing:What does this movie good is only techinical stuff. The rest is just basic:person_shrugging:♂ that you can t be really attached so i don t really recommend this movie the first one is way better.
Lacks the charms of the original. Forced recasting of the original casts left an additional sour taste. (I blame Netflix).
I really like this sequel to chicken run a lot as well, as much as I like Chicken Run.
As a sequel it is good, entertaining and funny. But I don't think it works as a separate movie.
Whilst not as entertaining as its predecessor, 'Chicken Run: Dawn of the Nugget' produces whats necessary to create a solid effort.
I'm no fan of recasting, especially when it comes to voice acting, but I can't deny Thandiwe Newton and Zachary Levi are good enough replacements for (the superior, still) Julia Sawalha and Mel Gibson. Elsewhere on the cast, Bella Ramsey is a plus - as are, albeit more minorly, Romesh Ranganathan, Daniel Mays and Josie Sedgwick-Davies. A few do reprise their roles fwiw, e.g. Jane Horrocks.
I doubt I'll want to come back and rewatch this even once, though I can still acknowledge that this is a more than decent watch given I had a positive time with it across 90 or so minutes. It features pleasant animation also, as expected.
my first movie of 2024... what a start lol .. its good funny loved the new characters but thats it abt it .... (why tf there is 15min credit scene??:skull::sob:)
it's good, it's nostalgic, it's fun, not a complicated story, I like it.
It didn't lay as much eggs as the first one, shame they had to re cast the voice actors but It was still a decent film that I enjoyed with a good sense of humour and I'm always impressed how much work goes into making these films, all the love for studio ardman animations.
I didn't know this was a thing that was coming or was something I wanted. Unfortunately, it was not as good as the original (from what I remember). Due to not seeing the original in quite some time, the recasting did not bother me much and I did enjoy my time with it. The Claymation is really cool, and I am sure kids will get a kick out of this on Netflix.
Rating: 2.5/5 - 70% - Worth Watching
A lot of references to classic action cinema. :)

Familiar territory and dad jokes abound in this sequel retread of the clay classic. So stylistically Aardman, dripping in quaint Britishisms and eye rolling one liners, it's by no means new or exciting, but it sure is cosy and nostalgic. Just nice, soft entertainment.
