No Way Up 2024

Edit after watching yesterday: It's not as bad as I thought it would be, but it isn't great either. Mildly entertaining throwaway "sharks on a plane" stuff. Just switch off your brain, and ignore the many plot holes and inconsistencies.

Just came to see the rating on this, and it's very clear that all the family and friends of the production team have left a high rating.

Full disclosure, I haven't watched it yet, but I have seen the trailer, and that seems to have covered the entire movie. It's hilariously bad, starting from the very basic contradiction, that a plane full of air, does not sink.

I will update my review with a rating as soon as I watch it, probably tomorrow.

This is the most depressing ass suspense movie you will ever watch.

Some of the shittiest writing i have endured in a movie in ages.

Apparently this chick can hold her breath for 3 minutes while actively swimming and climbing on airplane chairs.... Oh and apparently as soon as you reach the surface, sharks no longer try to eat you.

It is also extremely dumb!

"What the fuck is a shark doing on a plane?"

As if being trapped in an air pocket in a plane at the bottom of the sea wasn't enough, there's also sharks (and an octopus). It's an entertaining mix and I was entertained throughout. The situation is effective, I had no idea how they would get out of there. The initial plane crash was pretty intense and surprisingly looked pretty good. The plane set does the job, the underwater scenes are realistic and the shark effects look decent.

A mix of awful acting and passable acting (for what kind of movie this is). The movie's at it's best when something entertaining is happening on-screen but whenever they're in the plane figuring stuff out and sobbing after someone dies really brings this down. It's an attempt at building these characters and that's what you want in a movie but the performances and the dialogue isn't selling it.

I expected a better problem solving but suspenceful last couple of minutes nonetheless. The runtime could have been 15 minutes shorter maybe but overall this was decent in the shark movie genre.

Simple, unpretentious and very accurate. This is the kind of movie that bets on simplicity, has a straightforward story that works very well, great characters with a very good dynamic between them and really cool effects. There's no depth to any aspect of the story, but everything develops in just the right way to deliver a very entertaining and tense movie.

There are out there movies with low score but still good enought to watch especially on sunday after lunch before good nap.
This is not one of it. Its so bad that it doesnt deserve 6.0 not even 4.5

The science is week story even worse character bad but thats a good thing because you wont feel sorry for whatever happenes to them. Not even for a little girl.

The good about this film is its constant. Its bad at beggining, its bad after 30 minutes and its bad at the end. There are two legends in movie but this project was lost from beggining.

Reasons why this movie was bad. There was no need to have a child character. No reason to joke in a dangerous situation, the cliche stupid friend and cliche sacrifice.

must have been a boeing, am i right? :D

good enough acting, Kyle made some good and funny remarks in dire situations :)
can not say anything much more positive, coz i tend to overanalyze everything.
there was suspense for like 10-15 min from after the plane started crashing, but then realism started knockin and all immersion was lost.
there was still captivation for how and who shall die next tho
RIP MR. Tibbs! pretty c*nt move by the kid imo...

now waiting for a fanfiction sequel with MR. Tibbs, Kraken and Megalodon. "Pact from the Deep"

There are inconsistencies etc., but you kind of have to just ignore it. Colm Meaney as a badass security guard does not play at all. He's way too overweight, he looks like a mall cop, he really should have gotten in shape for the role.

The pacing is very bad and awkward. It's like those fight movies where a gang attacks someone but they have an unspoken "one person at a time" rule. Whenever someone does ANYTHING, everyone else just stands and wait. They don't prepare for the next thing, they don't think of alternatives, they don't rummage around, they just stand there. Okay person 1 is done with their thing, now let's continue with another person and the rest wait. Very strange.

Good enough entertainment. Not bad

Like a two-year old throwing a tantrum in an opium den, this whole thing is brought down by acting badly.

Frequently solid directing (considering the script they had to work with) and some nice images are ruined by a cast that should've been replaced with muppets.

It was ok—- just ok.

I’ve seen many shark movies, but never have I been so amused from beginning to end. Something is constantly happening and it’s keeping me on my toes.

If you put yourself in their shoes I think you would panic too. The movie kept us frustrated and entertained at the same time. Its one of those movies were you want to tell the character what to do but they don’t listen through the screen.
I loved it! I felt like I can relate to everyone’s situation.

A dull 90-minute movie that felt interminably long. Even the sharks were boring for the entirety of the 1-minute runtime they were on screen.
